It has been four months since the end of the Sword Art Online Incident.

Although the majority of the 6,147 surviving players have been logged out successfully, an estimated 300 or more have yet to awaken for unknown reasons. A company known FullSpectrum Inc, has taken over the management of the Sword Art Online servers after the collapse of Argus, the company that created and released the original game. The FullSpectrum Nexus is a powerful gaming system that intercepts the users’ brain signals, leaving them lifeless in the real world but in complete control in-game. The Nexus proves to be highly addictive, simulating the senses of touch, taste and even pain. Several give up their real lives, instead dedicating their life to the game.

ALFheim is full of fanciful creatures and new magics, this Virtual Reality MMO experience pushed the boundaries of its predecessor. The game features nine races of fairies, whose goal is to reach the top of the giant World Tree in the center of the land known as ALFheim. If players reach the top, they are said to meet the Fairy King, who would turn the first starting race to reach the top of the World Tree into the legendary race called ALFs, with the ability to fly for unlimited time.

Whether to experience the game or re-enter the world of Aincrad without the threat of death, players from all over the world swarm in to ALFheim. Some enter the game to escape their day to day lives, others dedicated to being the first to reaching the Fairy King. To this day, no one has reached the top of the World Tree.
