Name: Sanuye
Gender: Mare
Breed: 50% Spanish Mustang x 25% Selle Français x 25% Thoroughbred
Age: 4 years
Arrived in MUSTANG: Fall, Y7
Coat Color: Blue Roan Spotted Blanket
Height: 16hh
Eye Color: Blue
Appearance: The first thing you notice about Sanuye, is her coat. Her coat is of the blue roan pattern and three stockings reach up to her knees, while her hindquarters looks as though white paint has been thrown onto it and as though a artist was angry and made black splotches on top of the white hairs. Her mane has grown into long black locks, reaching to her shoulders. Her frame is lean and tall much like her mother's, and if it wasn't for her father's unruly genetics, she may have been able to stay at her mother's side for life. Her legs are long and slender and she has the looks of a jumper, but she also has a 'hardy' look to her, given to her from her father's side.
Personality:
She is a reserved creature that prefers to keep to herself then cause trouble. She is usually considered the black sheep of herds, and therefore she tries to stay away from herd life if possible. Although small in stature, she does not back down in an attempt to protect herself, however futile it may seem. Unfortunately, she's not the greatest of fighters and may end up pushing herself into even more trouble. Trouble seems to follow this mare around like the bubonic plague. And when trouble finds her, she would rather deal with this trouble on her own then ask for help, for she also has somewhat of a stubborn streak. Underneath this quiet, "lone wolf" attitude, she is actually a caring creature that just wants to fit in somewhere in her life. Much like her mother, she possesses somewhat of a french accent.
History:
Her life begin with the usual, "foal was an accident" scenario. Sanuye's mother had been a well proved show jumper, a Selle Francias with a hint of Thoroughbred blood and a thick French accent. Unfortunately, her mother was also young and naive and did not wish to mind the fence that kept her within her pasture. She would often hear the wild horses lost in the plains at night, and she yearned to converse with them, to know what it was like. One night, when her master had neglected to return her back to her stall for the night, she jumped the fence and off she went into the plains.
The mare had soon found a herd and almost immediately became smitten with one of the bachelor colts, a three year old who would soon be removed from the herd. They became fast friends and by the time the mare had returned to her pasture and was found by her master, the damage had already been done, she was pregnant.
Of course, the humans didn't too much favor their "prodigy" of a horse getting pregnant at the age of four, still having many years of competition and shows ahead of her, but luck was not in their way. Perhaps if they were lucky, they'd get a nice looking bay foal that could pass for a Selle Francias. This was not the case. Sanuye was soon born, and she looked a mess. She was beautiful, but different. She sported a blue roan coat with blue eyes to match, and her hindquarters was white with large splotches of black hair. Her master deemed her ugly and unruly, while her mother looked at her with love in her eyes. From there, she'd begin her life as the black sheep.
When she turned a year old, the humans wanted to sell her, they could not have this abomination running amok on their property. Her mother knew of this and quickly told the filly of her father and the wild horses that roamed the plains, she was to go join them before the humans got their hands on her. (Unknown to her, the humans wanted to sell her to a kill-buyer).
Sanuye was confused but listened to her mother and once the humans came into the pasture, the filly headed straight for the fence and she was gone.
Due to her father being a bachelor, she never did come across him and she was left to wander the plains alone for almost three years. When she did run into herds, she quickly removed herself for she never felt as if she "fit in" and would often sneak away into the night to get away as quickly as possible. She was a "lone wolf", a "black sheep". She could never fully grasp what it was like to be in a herd, and she just didn't understand.
And now, she has come to MUSTANG, hoping to fit in somewhere.
