THE LIGHTS IN MY EYES, THEY DISAPPEARED He stood before the volcano, and he watched through monstrous eyes as the lava bubbled and spat; even from this distance the anger of the mountain could be heard. Gladriel inhabited this land often; the wasteland which he claimed as his own; his own desert. Did little tender Iscariot deem himself important with his sand and his dust? Gladriel had magma. Gladriel had death. The sable stallion smiled obscenely, lips parting in a fashion which could be described only as macabre, and threw back his head in silent laughter. Oh, that fool, his brother, his brothers and sisters too; all of his blessed family. Some dead, others dying, all slaves to their desire for a life which could be called half-normal. Not he: the piranha, the savage, the shadow.
Green eyes flickered, quite suddenly, as his peripheral vision caught something in the distance, and he was caught mid-snarl, mid-purr. Dinner had been served.

"I'LL SIT ALONE AND DROWN AGAIN"
Dèsir spotted him from a mile away. This place was not solitude, it was coarse and wretched. And this unknown man that she had merely caught a glimpse of drew her in instantly. If it hadn't been months since her last encounter with another warm body, if she had not been so alone, maybe this eerie man never would have crossed her mind again.
But no matter the face, they were always hungry. Nothing was fulfilling to them anymore, nothing was exciting. Quite a few times, the two of them wondered if leaving would do them good.
But this man was like Nexus. The raven haired knight was her sun, her hearts captor. And Dèsir was disgusted in herself for letting it get this far. He did not her. She would never be that sapphire skinned, star freckled faced Liesel. Her heart clenched, teeth barred. Her spindle legs shifted their course, a more direct route to the man whom looked at her with dark eyes.
He would save her, right? Keep her from drowning? Once upon a time, she had been reckless. Now she was sheltered. He would save her, he would save her.
No.
Alaska blinked ever so slowly. She couldn't change paths now. He's a killer.
