The brindled red dun stag made it to his favorite spot in Mustang, the pumpkin patch. He loved to hear the crunch sound of when he sank his teeth into them, and that light pumpkin flavor, and the slimy innards. It was his favorite autumn treat, besides seeing newborn foals. He felt a little weird though, he had eaten on an enticing looking mushroom on the way in, and he was regretting doing so now. But, he didn't worry much about it, figuring it would wear off in a while, and he continued on eating on the pumpkins.
He was well into what he was doing, anyone who knew him well enough knew that this was his place when pumpkins were in season. He frequented it throughout the season. But, he'd noticed that it was more eerie that it had been years ago. He pulled his head up and looked around at the dead trees, and the ravens squawking. His eyes were starting to hurt, and his head was spinning. He snorted, and shook his head, he was getting annoyed with this feeling. He lowered his head to look at the ground, and it was beginning to move under him. He backed up quickly, and he stumbled, landing on his rear smashing a pumpkin.
He glanced back, squinting his amber orbs, and let out a discontented sigh. "Oh my gosh, really?" he muttered to himself. What an embarrassment. That mushroom really did a number on him, he certainly wasn't going to touch another one of those things ever again. He pulled himself back up onto his feet barely, and he staggered over to a dead tree to lean himself against. He was having a hard time staying awake, and he fought it for as long as he could, and then lowered his head, and closed his eyes. Getting a little bit of sleep.
He was lost in his dreaming when a nearby rustling noise woke him from his sleep. Head shot up, and his eyes were wide, and shifting around, looking for who it was making the noise.
(I'm starting things off with Rowtag, then I will bring in Lazerus and Ellecia)

An airy snicker could be heard echoing in the atmosphere around the brindled fire dun buck. An old familiar laugh that hadn't been heard in years. It was Hysteria's childlike amusement coming out as she witnessed the brute she held so much admiration for fumble around like a fool. It seemed her echo bounced around from point of origin "Mighty Rowtag, does the earth escape your grasp to hold on?" she mused as her frame overo buckskin form seemed to phase into view. Almost solid looking yet one could see the world through her ghostly body. Walking up in her general old sense, it seemed the Indian painted markings glowed upon her see through pelt quite vibrantly. "Oh father in-law, how is my family? Did Ezra ever come back? How is my dear Lazerus? Has Ellecia grown up to be the strong mare I know she is?" Hysteria couldn't hold back her concerns. Her heart ached at knowing she'd never be able to hold her mate close to her again. The first stallion she allowed to trust and love in a way even Rowtag couldn't have filled even though he had been loved as a father figure. Hysteria had prayed for safety for her family in her last moments of death. She only hoped it had happened. Laredo WICKED♪ ♫

This auds flicked back and forth as he heard the voice snicker at him, then speak. The red dun brindled stag's amber orbs focused on the apparition that appeared before him. He really thought he was out of it now from the mushroom. But, the more he stared at the ghostly figure before him, the more it was real, Hysteria was a real Ghost. 'Well Lazerus probably won't be too happy when he learns about this.' he thought. And, who knew if his son was even still alive. He always had hope that his son had what it took to stay alive, and carry on. And he even wondered about the twins as well. "At the moment it certainly is. And it if what I am seeing before me is correct." he said to her.
His eyes wandered over the translucent painted lady, the questions ran through his mind, wondering what'd happened to this mare that'd come out of such strong lineage. "What the heck happened to you?" he asked, before he continued on to answer her questions. He could only imagine the things that weighed on the ghost's mind, even after her death. It was probably apart of why she hadn't passed on completely. "I honestly don't have those answers for you. I have not seen any of them since my disappearance, or since I have returned to Mustang." he said to her. He could see a figure in the distance entering the pumpkin patch with another close behind. His eyes brightened as he realized who it was, and he chuckled. "Well, it looks like you can get some of your answers." he said to Hysteria. He let out a whicker to his bay dun son.
Lazerus
The bay dun pushed his way through the tangled mess of branches and brambles, to the entrance of the pumpkin patch. He glanced back to the red mare, Isolde. "How are you doing?" he asked her as he pushed through the last of the branch mess, to the open field of the pumpkins. His Amber orbs looked over the field, and his auds fell back, not quite sure to make of the eeriness he didn't remember looming over this place years before. But, he knew this really wouldn't stop his father from coming here. In fact he could smell the brindled fired red dun stag.
He looked around more carefully, and he finally spotted his father standing under a dead tree, and a glowing horse in front of him. "What in the world.." he muttered quietly as he studied what was going on. "Hysteria?" he said, just barely audible. He was confused briefly as to what was going on. Then it hit him, and his heart sank low in his chest, yet, was astounded that, here she was as an apparition before them all. He started walking over, getting a close look of this ghostly version of his beloved mate.

EZRA
A dark silhouette with white blotches over it's bodice had been hiding away in the dark corners of the large pumpkin patch. Having hidden away from the world after no luck of finding any of his family since his silent return, Ezra had basically given up. He didn't know what to do with himself anymore means he wasn't sure if any of his family was left. It seemed his night terrors had grown worse lately and he was constantly tired from little sleep and loosing weight with no real appetite. He just didn't have anymore drive.
As if the devil himself had heard Ezra's please, familiar voices carried in the atmosphere of the pumpkin patch. It couldn't. It was impossible. Ezra gaped as his blue flecked amber orbs strained to see a red dun figure in the distance. His jaw dropped even more as he witnessed a blur form into a ghastly shape of white and gold horse. "Grandpa.. he muttered under his breath before shifting his weight. Stepping forth he winced as his back end dipped painfully low, his scar mangled legs were weary and weak.
He'd stood to long and now his back legs didn't want to move at all. But he bit through it with painful limping as he pulled himself closer now seeing the familiar shape of his own father approaching. Ezra's heart stopped cold realizing the ghastly figure was his own diseased Mother. Tears welded up in the young bachelor's eyes. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, he couldn't. Pulling up short behind another dead tree out of view, Ezra was in to much shock to know how to approach them.

she grew up good like american honey * She blinked, amazed that he was worried about her at a time like this. "I'm fine." She said softly, stopping once they'd cleared the last of the bramble. It was... well, nice. The scent of pumpkins was heavy in the air and it made her realize she was hungry. She would wait to eat, though. She didn't understand why she'd tagged along, not when she could've just as easily waited outside of the brambles for her new leader to return to her.
She stayed behind Lazerus and when he moved forward, she stayed rooted right where she was. She didn't want to intrude on their reunion. If he needed her, he'd call her. Her bat companion fluttered and landed on her back, watching the reunion with about as much interest as a child when it was being scolded. "I don't see why you hang around him like a lost puppy, Isolde. Weren't you taught better than that?" She ignored the bat's mocking voice and closed her eyes, taking a step or two back.

Ellecia
The dunskin lady made her way through the patch. She'd been sleeping in a nook of the patch after gorging herself on the wonderful pumpkins she'd ate on as a child. She'd finally returned home after her years of traveling with the boys in a bachelor band, after getting separated from her family. She had such a bad vice with following her father and grandfather out when they patrolled when she was a kid. And now, she was more than capable of taking care of herself. She was the picture of what lead mare should be; tough but fair, and bold, never one to pick a fight, but certainly could end one if needed, very smart and wise beyond her years. She was some one who any stallion could value as a leader in their herd. But, there was just one thing, she acted more like, one of the guys, than she did to be like a lady, and be some fragile creature to a worthy stallion. Nope, it was certainly out in left field for her, and that was something she'd conquer once she actually found a stallion worth while of her affections.
Her ears perked forward as she heard familiar voices of her past floating on the air. Her amber orbs were filled with excitement that her searching for her family wasn't going to be a long arduous task. She threw herself up part way in a rear, and let out a cry of excitement. She leapt forward, picking up her pace as she ran through the mess of pumpkins. She was so excited to see everyone again that her heart felt like it was going to burst in her chest. She quickly slowed her pace down as she saw the sight of her brother's back side. No doubt that it was her little twin brother Ezra. She could recognize his painted markings anywhere. But, what was a bit disturbing to her, was the sight of his thin body, and the horrid scars on his back legs. She stood there in silence as she just stared in shock of what she saw in front of her. Thoughts ran through her mind, thinking the worse had happened to him.
She broke the silence as she parted her kissers to speak, and probably scar the daylights out of him, since he seemed like he was so focused on what was a head of him. "Well now baby brother. What in the heck are you just standing there for? What's so interesting?" she asked him. She was focused on him, and not on the others ahead to see what was going on, yet.

The Indian painted dame couldn't express how happy she was to see Rowtag honestly. Though even in ghost form it was hard to read her expressions as she wasn't one to show emotion very much at all. It was highly rare occasions that were normally one on one times with ones she held dear to her, like Rowtag and Lazerus. In which the old red dun brindled brute had been one of the first to ever see her break down as well as Lazerus was the only one ever to see how sweet and loving she could be on a personal level while alive. Indeed her children had brought about a new protective side of her, yet that had been her down fall to death.
Hysteria couldn't help but chuckle at Rowtag's surprise to her, yet he seemed to recover from the shock quite quickly though. "It was indeed far to soon to be fare, yet apparently the world was done with me is it needed" her brows furrowed creasing the blue painted circles around her eyes, it concerned her greatly that even the mighty Rowtag had been gone so long he knew not the whereabouts of anyone. That was quite the unusual happening to say the least. " I was searching for..."
She had begun to say what had happened when both the red dun's words and the sight of her beloved mate cut her short. It seemed her ghostly glowed brightened upon seeing that bay dun form, oh how she had regretted never being able to confess how true her love was for him in her slow dieing last moments when the rattle venom had paralyzed her in death. Perhaps now she'd be able to let him know.. Letting out a whicker calling him to join them. Her illusion flickered for a moment seeing that of another mare already at his side. Summoning her once living rationality she knew better than to prattle over that. Just like his father Hysteria knew Lazerus would have never only been hers forever in life or death.
Returning her once normal straight but subtle smile to her kissers, she let out another nicker to the other mare, accepting the new lady like the strong lead mare she once was. Hysteria felt a prickle throughout her ghost body, glancing over her shoulder in the other direction she sensed two more living beings near by in the darkness of the patch. She had a feeling who was there but would wait to call them out if they didn't approach soon.

Lazerus
He walked up to her, his amber orbs locked on her, not letting himself blink, in fear that this had to be some crazy dream, or hallucination. His mate, and his father as well, were here before him. It was like the powerful forces of the universe planned for this moment to happen now. And it would just become even crazier now if the twins happened to show up. He nickered softly to her. "Oh Hyst, what happened to you?" he said, as he gently ran his muzzle on the apparition's face. His eyes were all glassy, fighting back the tears that wanted to flood out, and he looked over her glowing features. This was just not what he was expecting when he came here. To be thinking life was going good now that he'd been able to make it back home, then the next moment to pretty much have his heart, feel like it was being ripped out his chest. He truly loved Hysteria, even with all their trials they had with each other, and their differences. She'd been a mare worth proving his love for, and though it was quite short, he cherished his time with her. He glanced back to Isolde as Hyst called to her. He nodded his head lightly, as he sniffled a bit, and motioned for her to come forward.
Rowtag
The old red brindled Kiger stayed silent as his son, and his beloved mate of a ghost, had their talk. They had a lot to catch up on. He glanced around the two, seeing the mare that Lazerus had brought with him. Young she certainly was, but hopefully she was some one who could make Lazerus happy, as well as vice versa. Hopefully Hysteria wouldn't take it too hard.
His attention shifted as he caught familiar scents on the wind. Amber orbs glanced around, and he finally spotted the twins off in the distance behind a fallen dead tree. He whickered to them to come out of hiding, to come join them.

she grew up good like american honey * When she was beckoned forward, she went without complaint. She noted the older stallion, figuring him to be Lazerus's father. Her suspicions were soon confirmed. As the others spoke around her, her ears flicked to and fro, attempting to catch each noise that slipped past their lips. If nothing else, she was curious. She had so far gathered that Lazerus's mate had died, hence her ghostly appearance and now face to face with her, Lazerus was perhaps overcome with guilt and general depression. She wanted to comfort him but she had no idea how to do so.
She came to a stop a mere few inches behind Lazerus. "Greetings." She said quietly, dipping her head quietly to acknowledge the ghostly apparition. She wasn't sure what else she could say. It wasn't really her place to be here. This was something Lazerus had to deal with and when the time came, she'd do her best to comfort him. For now, she was only a spectator and if she was being entirely honest, it bothered her to no end.

EZRA The black overo bronc practically jumped out of his skin and sent a reactionary kick towards the voice he had heard approaching behind him, he'd been so consumed by the sight of their dead mother and the shock on his father's face at the sight of her, Ezra hadn't heard his twin sister approach at all. Letting out a small roar of distress and irritation at her, Ellecia had always known how to get on his nerves in the quickest manners and considering what he had just witnessed didn't make anything any better. "Oh you!" He snorted ears pinned back, though he couldn't help but be grateful to see her after years of being lost from the lands of Mustang. Cause of her he knew their cover was blown. " Ellecia you know how to be the most obnoxious. Mom's dead! Can't you see! ...dad looks horrible." His words hissed out heatedly at first but died off with an ache of pain seeing how shocked the bay dun stallion was. Ezra's voice was crackly too from hardly using it for months as well, he looked hard at Ellecia, no one could get such a reaction out of him like his twin sister. He didn't know what it was but something about her always set a spark off in him when are them, and not a lovey dovey spark for sure, more of a irrational competitive angry spark. With a shake of his crown, the call from their grandfather made him turn away from Ellecia, he'd make it up to her later for his attitude. With a grimmace he pushed his black and white frame forwards, biting back the spazm his hind leg was having from the kick he'd given earlier. He could feel tended and muscles twisting with tension and pain, but he stuck it out like he always did, only proof of his physical pain was the limp, scars and strain in his face that fought off the whimpers the wanted to escape his kissers. Ezra's approach was nervous and frigid, nodding to his grandfather rather timidly. He had a bad gut feeling as to why their mother was standing before them as a ghost. And that gut feeling was saying he was apart of the reason. He didn't know how or why but it scared him enough he was quivering in place as he stopped a few paces from the mass of the group. Even so he still yearned to be held by his mother one more time, she'd always been there for him, protecting him. His injuries were painful reminders of why he should had never left the safety of his home, family and his mother. The sad longing filled his amber pools as he watched his father and mother. HysteriaThe ghostly mare's own words were evading her vaporous lips for a few moments as her life-filled mate drew near, her amber gaze tracing every etching of his weathered facade. She leaned into the touch he attempted to give, even with trying to force herself to be more materialized and solid, his touch still went through her illusive floating figure. Her own visionaries pained when she just felt cold twingled shivers rippling through her body from the touch from a living creature, wanting so dearly to feel the warmth of his flesh pressing against hers again. Hysteria let out a heavy sigh, "Oh my Lazerus.. " She purred softly to him like the times they had been alone, when she had been most vulnerable to him, showing how sweet she could really be when no one else was around. Those memories of the tender moments they had once held onto each-other away from the view of the world, the only times she'd let her hardened walls fall, was how she first spoke to him. "..I fell into a pit of Rattlesnakes when.. " The rising voices behind them pulled her attention away from a moment. After all her heart yearned to see her only two children again. Smiling warmly to Lazerus before turning Ezra, the first of the twins to join them. Letting a nicker float to Ellecia's ears as well for how happy she was to see them both. "I was searching for you, Ezra. You left with no warning, my son, you know better than that. In my frantic worry of searching for you I wasn't watching where I was going." She chuckled at herself knowing she should have known better, touching her son's black and white forelock. Looking back to Lazerus and Rowtag again, " I slipped over a ridge into a den of rattlers in my haste. I knew I should have asked for help from either of you two, I could never some up the guts to ever ask for help though. Just not how I was." Smiling she didn't blame Ezra, though his decision was stupid for leaving, it was apparent that it had been time for her to leave this world. After offering a ghostly cold nuzzle to Ellecia, Hysteria turned back to her mate. Even with a pretty flat smile on her features her eyes shown brightly of the love and admiration she held for the dun stallion. Looking to Isolde, holding a gaze for a long time as if looking through her, Hysteria nodded, " I expected nothing less than the loyalty and love I gave Lazerus from you. My family was and is dear to me and so long as my mate finds happiness in you, I can ask nothing more. Be the lead mare he deserves and serve him well as such. I would have done nothing less. I will be watching over them, so no tricks or lies." In a welcoming yet very serious manner she warned this new mare at Lazerus's side. She meant every word she spoke and the warning she was implying if Isolde betrayed the dun stallion or the rest of her family. God so help her, she was reap from the dead and haunt any soul that was out to harm her living blood. Looking back at all of her family, so happy to see them all once again. This wasn't the ideal sucstance but at least it was better than nothing at all. "Lazerus, don't ever forget me?" She asked of him, knowing full well the life of a horse could consist of many mates and no time for anything else. Hysteria at least always wanted to part this world know she would be remembered by at least one individual. Laredo ღ муα ღ

Ellecia
She snickered a bit to herself as her brother got worked up, but it soon disappeared as his words about mother especially, hit her ears. Her heart sank. "Wha-What? How can this be?!" she exclaimed in a hushed tone, as she looked past her brother, and saw their father, and the glowing apparatus in front of him. Her eyes got big, almost not believing what she was seeing before her. "How is that even possible?" she uttered barely above a whisper. She glanced over quickly as she saw her brother moving forward as their grandfather called for them, seeing his limp in his walk. She knew he was hiding a lot more of that pain on the inside. Much like his grandfather he was in stubbornness, and high tolerances for pain.
She stepped forward with him, but rounded herself nearer to their grandfather. She looked over her parents, and her heart just sank as she listened to her mother speak, telling of her demise in a den of rattlesnakes. Her eyes welled up, and she felt that part of her mother's fate was her fault. If she'd never run off herself, or taunt her brother into joining him, etc.. their mother would possibly still be alive right now. She couldn't take it anymore, and she stepped forward, and nuzzled her mother back, letting a few tears stream down her face.
Lazerus
He listened to her speak of her fate falling to a death trap of a den of rattlesnakes. It made his gut churn, and ache to think about how she suffered, and made him feel guilty for not being there to try to save her, or at least be there in her last moments. Saving her would of probably been inevitably futile, if he'd been there. And, being there in her dying moments wouldn't of been any easier than this situation now. His eyes welled up with tears, and he rubbed his face on her neck. He paused his breath for a moment, then exhaled. He just wanted her to be a living flesh and bone version. He took a step back as she spoke to Isolde. He knew that Hysteria wanted the best for him, and the twins, and also not to be hurt as well. He didn't think Isolde could be one capable of doing such a thing.
His auds fell back as Hysteria turned her attention back to him, asking if he never forget her. "Oh Hysteria. You should know you'll always be in my heart." he said to her. Though their short time together, she'd left an impression on him that, he'd not soon forget. She was his reason to fight for his freedom, to come back home, and it just ached to know he couldn't spend anymore days with her in the adventure of life. He stepped forward, and whispered in her ear. " I will always remember you .And I will hold you close here in my heart and never let you go." he said. "I love you very much." he added in a whisper.
