Ana was not broken limbed and ugly as she had been in death. She was young again, around the age where she had first met Liir. She had gone straight into his arms with a teary eye, embraced him with a heart set ablaze. From then, she did not fear the afterlife. He showed her the most beautiful things, things that were pure and almost, nothing had been broken. With happiness on her side, she did still mourn her own loss of the family she loved so, so much. But everyday, Liir would lead her through the canopied home she loved so to catch a quick peek of them. Her death had caused sadness, so much, but she would always be there to remind them. Today, somehow, was different. Normally sleek black and beautiful, she was simply an apparition, wandering throughout the pumpkin patch alone. She was not sure where Liir had wandered off to -- probably lurking in the shadows not far off. His parents were here, after all.
Ana missed her family. More than anything did she wish there had been a happy medium between all. That she could have fought her depression, or even Liir never left her the first time. But it was an emptiness nagging her then, as Adaza's face crossed her mind. Her baby brother, her rock through all the bad times. He had been taken before she left the real world by the canyon's new ruler; she had left him and gods she regretted that the most. Ana needed him, his comforting smile.

Forgive this trouble in my heart Don't you know what I'd give To shake this pain away And tear the world apart
The young boy, soon to be turned a man, tread cautiously through the unnaturally symmetrical tunnel of trees to reach the Pumpkin Patch. The place was strange and mystical, and the very air surrounding him set his fur on end. His father had battled for him, and won against the smoky empress Calla so he had returned home to a less than jubilant welcome. The gaze of twisted pity that Calla had given him as he had left her Canyon had haunted him all the way back to the Hollow, and Adaza had realised why as his mother pulled him into a swift embrace.
"She's gone." Had been all the Queen had sobbed, and the young prince hadn't understood at first, but upon taking a sniff of his homes' sweet fragrance, he noticed that his sisters' scent was stale - fragile. As if a puff of wind would whisk it away from his memory forever. The coloured boy had cried for days, the grief which clenched his heart and throat unrelenting. So when his father had told him of this place, Adaza was sceptical that such a place could exist - and the idea of seeing his dead sister scared him. What if she wasn't as beautiful in death as she had been in life? And then his memory of her was tainted to always remember her as a rotting corpse? But curiosity had won him over, and the undeniable pull to actually tell her goodbye.
He entered on the glade, and she was standing there, waiting for him. The tattoed boy paused, uncertain. She didn't look like an apparition, she looked whole; solid. He made his way toward her slowly at first, and then running, all his worry bleeding away. A smile bloomed on his youthful mouth, the skin around his blue eyes crinkling with joy. "Ana," he breathed, skidding to a stop when he reached her, thrusting out his nose to touch her one more time. But in a cruel twist of fate, his muzzle passed straight through hers as if she were nothing more than the air which had terrified him moments ago. Sadness clouded his gaze, and the joyful smile drained away.
