Calla's life has been eerily peaceful - war nor madness bends the tree lines, she no longer haunted the canyon with loud cries of mourning. Strength has restored in her being, both mental and physical, bringing a new perspective to hunger. It is insatiable, the need for violence and understanding, and her husband... she misses him, even when he's home. Politics, once again, drive them sideways. Things are happening around them, and a new era is beginning. It doesn't bother her much anymore, because now, she has had her taste of leadership. Every single day, Calla remains the tyrant of the Canyon. From day one of his return, she has refused this good thing. Today, of all days though, she feels a little more lost than usual, wandering about the East. She contemplates visiting her darling Nerissa. The thought is shaken from her mind as a familiar scent catches her nares, legs immediately changing course. At first, the woman does not recognize what draws her far East. She doesn't understand the madness creeping over her naturally somber façade, leaving her stomach twisting from eagerness.

Deade filled something inside of her -- something dark, something brilliantly lit up in her rib cage. It was a sense of spiritual security, that her monster would never go hungry, he would always be around. And so the smoke black Queen danced across the Hollow, calling to the skies, waiting ever so patiently for his arrival.
