complicate my future

There was a monster among the island. He had crossed the murky ocean paved pathway that lead to the small island in the depths of MUSTANG, his eyes locked straight ahead. His first time here since hearing it's name whispered through the mouths of mortals he walked with, speaking vague about the cursed land. It sparked a curiosity deep within him, one where he was so sure. Ivanov took no precautions when stepping onto the ashen gray shores, took no care to ensure there was no one else. He had found himself following a young pup, probably just a year, who was as lost as a child without its mother. The she wolf had known he was there, but paid no mind, thought nothing of him. What kind of animal could be any threat to her?

She did not think that in her last few moments of life. In seconds, the shadow of a stallion had disappeared some ways behind the she wolf, leaving her alone to sniff the air and gave her just enough time to cross into the dark, unlit cavern of the skull formations. Her haunches were raised, taking careful steps. Out of nowhere, though, there was something upon her. Razor sharp hoof grazed her backside, teeth clenched the back of her neck, and she made one small attempt to whimper before a loud crack rang through the hollow cave. Ivanov stood before the corpse, staring down, no mercy or sympathy could be traced on the distinct creases of his young face. At the opening of the cave, the cherry bay stud stepped out, a laugh echoing around him, something other wordly, sick an twisted, satisfied.

And he was left alone then. Ivanov watched the ocean from his standing, wondering what would come of his life here, that maybe he could find his place among these mortals.
