Ebony raced into the forest seeming to be swallowed whole by mist no matter what she had to run into this forest in fear that those stallions would find her. Finally slowing down Ebony takes a deep breath slowing her breathing and takes a few moments to look at her surroundings, the mist swirling around her hooves and covering the ground did not give off a good vibe. The darkness surrounding the forest made it seem eerie and quiet that did not help her in this case since she was alone.
The only thing she could be grateful for was her dark coat that helped her blend in with her surroundings, with a last huff she continued in the forest. Putting her ears in the back of her head she looked around where was she exactly? This place seemed dangerous or maybe it was just because she was alone and foreign to this place. "Now what!" She neighed loudly rearing up in aggravation. The silence made it easy for her to hear things around her, this helped she didn't hear the pounding of hooves from the stallions she ran from. Ebony had been with that group for to long and was a slave for to long finally being free she found she had nothing to do.
After exploring a little more she grew angry that she couldn't find her way out. Stomping a hoof on the ground she looked around flicking her tail. This place seemed beautiful in a way "hello?" She called. Right away regretting it, if anything was bout there they'd have found her by now.

AL-SARIM [Lionhearts and Misfits] In your luxury bathe me of my impurities, Refresh my heart and cool my wounds, Let your wine pleasure my mind and ease my worries, Fill me until I can drink no more.
The verse itself was assembled to proclaim the brute's infatuation with water, its wonder and inspiration as it were to the desert-born sons and daughters. Many mistook the verse to describe...well other activities. Al-Sarim smiled as he wandered these woods. The beast had taken a turn somewhere to wind up here yet again. The smell of many equine's filled the air but he could see none. This place made the living forms mere shadows in the misty darkness. The birds did not sing because the caw of the crows drowned them out. The sun hardly pierced the canopy above. On the contrary, it was always cooler in the shade. The dark sahib paused for a moment as sound quickly caught his attention, the frantic pounding of hooves, the smell of a mare. She entered the labyrinth and motioned onward. He, out of lack of any better engagement, decided to follow her in stealth. Sarim kept a safe distance and moved quietly among the evergreens. What do we have here he thought?
The lady stopped, appearing lost, she moved frantically. And then with the silence came a realization that she was alone (although she really was not) and that perhaps calling out was not the greatest of ideas. He smirked then before slowly creeping closer. That voice of hers was a sweet chime in his ears. Perhaps I can keep this one for myself he thought. He stayed in the shadows but decided to let his presence be known. "Hello there...are you...in need of some assistance love?" he spoke softly, his voice a charming baritone with a tough of edge. The fae was so anxious he did best not to cause her to take flight.

Ebony had not stopped for even five minutes before she waited for a reply that didn't come. Until something did come, chills ran down her body as she heard something speak. Putting her ears back on her head Ebony looked around trying to find the speaker, she knew it was a stallion but where was he? "Hello" she said in a slightly sharp tone. If it was a stallion from the little band she was in then she might as well be dead " I will only answer your question if you come out-dont call me love" she snapped. The blue roan mare looked around unsure of what to do, what if he was dangerous? Well he is a stallion of course he was he could kill her as could she him.
Ebony turned herself around until she faced the direction the voice came from. Narrowing her eyes she could faintly see an outline of a equine. "What is a horse doing out here stalking another?" She questioned wearily. Ebony better make sure he was really not apart of her old little band coming to collect their little slave. How could he have followed me? She thought I should have heard him!

AL-SARIM [Lionhearts and Misfits] Well it was nice to be answered for a change...he thought as her second "hello" greeted him. She sought him out in the darkness and was acute enough to know the area which he stood. There was courage mingled with fear he thought in the blue lady's eyes. It was a kin to the cornering of a lion or a bear with her young behind her. Sometimes fear brought out the most primal sort of courage. "I will only answer your question if you come out-dont call me love...What is a horse doing out here stalking another?" He chuckled at this lightly, he very loved her spitfire. The dark bay stallion emerged slowly from the darkness, lobes pricked, his warm dark eyes a-light with interest as he gazed over towards the mare, a smile on his dark lips. "Fair enough...my lady." The hellion paused that the mare might look upon him and draw her own conclusions. When he saw her enter, she acted like a fugitive, a wanted woman, perhaps bad company on her trail. Not so long ago it might have been a good-paying assignment for him to retrieve a run-away. But that was then and he was not engaged in such a contract now. On his own, he owned no loyalties except to himself.
"To answer you Miss, you looked like you were in some kind of trouble. I had nowhere else to be really so I followed you. And so here we are." His voice was light and casual, there was really no gravity in there and certainly no fear in his eyes. His bulk was a tad large but his body spoke no aggression. The virile lowered his head, tilting it slightly as if to silently tell her he meant no harm. "I am Al-Sarim, please call me Sarim. Might I ask your name? Lest I will have no choice but to call you 'love'" he added with that charming grin of his.

Ebony stepped back as the stallion stepped out of the darkness, he was a little taller than her and to look him in the eyes or face even she had to look up slightly. The good thing was he looked to be not in the band of horses she was in, with a sigh of relief she calmed her mind and listened to the stallion speak. Ebony flicked her ear in annoyance as he called her these odd names but pushed passed those as he continued talking. The mare nodded as he mentioned her being in some kind of trouble, might as well be honest "running from stallions, it's a ...mare thing but why did you follow even if you had nothing to do what if i was bait?" she didn't tell the whole truth of why she ran but oh well, once again Ebony listened. She laughed lightly as he asked for her name or be called love, as she laughed she attempted to answer " I am Ebony nice to meet you Sarim" she said calming down a bit. This stallion was interesting mostly being she had not ever met a kind stallion in her life. " you are a very interesting horse Sarim and I just met you to!" she said with a slight chuckle, she was still not entirely sure of this stallion so just to be sure she had to act kind the best she could. Ebony lowered her head as he did his, he did not seem threatening like he intended not to be. --- Ooc: ( vnes♥) It's fine you spelt my name wrong and call me missy if ya want, also I think Ebony will join him!

AL-SARIM [Lionhearts and Misfits] He truly did love a woman with a mind of her own. Most stallions might prefer a more docile, quiet and obedient lady but Sarim preferred the charms of a lady who could hold herself up on a conversation. Of course, it was not a bad thing that this mare was also easy on the eyes. The mare's choice of words was casual, indicating that she was perhaps not from a royal family which was good. Neither was Sarim, but he had been raised to maneuver in the courts of kings, among generals and commanders, and then with those the lowliest of the lowly as in the desert. He rather liked her manners. "running from stallions, it's a ...mare thing but why did you follow even if you had nothing to do what if i was bait?" A mare thing? He could not help but think of the ways of a mysterious lady and how she rather liked to lead a stallion in an exhausting chase. The dark virile snorted, aware this was not what she was referring to. "I see a lady in trouble, I see no reason why I should not help where I can. Why should I be concern if you were bait?" There was an implied confidence in those eyes of his, his smile did not falter. Sarim was very much a fearless galleon.
He studied her then, observing the coat that appeared gray in the shadows. But the charcoal tone of hers was likely to shine a mild tint of cloudy blue...he had seen the hue before. Interesting that her name should be Ebony. "The pleasure is all mine Ebony." said the brown-black sahib as he bowed politely. There was a poise to him that matched his charm. "you are a very interesting horse Sarim and I just met you to!" At this Sarim laughed and motioned just a step closer. "This is...a good thing no?" His attention shifted momentarily as he checked to see that he had not been bitten by a fanged rodent, the bloodsuckers were eager to consume him it seemed. He flicked his banner before turning back to Ebony.
"I do not favor these woods...I may be eaten alive here. Shall we walk Ebony? Maybe you can tell me about yourself. Perhaps I could continue to interest you." Sarim gestured to an old deer path that seemed to run all over the woods.

"I see a lady in trouble, I see no reason why I should not help where I can. Why should I be concerned if you where bait?" This made Ebony roll her eyes " just a thought" she laughed slightly. When the stallion smiled she did not feel threatened like she usually did, he was different but in a good way for once. "The pleasure is all mine Ebony." He spoke, Ebony was shocked as he bowed not many horses acted like this a true gentleman or lady, she had never seen this. Putting her ears forward Ebony looked at him as he bowed "such a gentleman" she said with a smile. As he stepped closer just for a second Ebony's heart skipped a beat from fear and being nervous "this is a good thing no?" He questioned "no. It is a very good thing" she corrected the stallion.
" I do not favour these woods...I may be eaten alive here. Shall we walk Ebony? Maybe you can tell me about yourself . Perhaps I could continue to interest you" she listened "I'd love to" she spoke and looked where he was looking at the trail. Without waiting for him she headed towards the trail, stopping for a second she looked back and with a flick of her tail she continued walking. "This place is odd do you venture here often?" She questioned making conversation. Ebony stopped and looked back at Sarim, his coat was very beautiful to her the other coats she had seen where always bright colors of Brown's and whites but his was very different how funny horses could be.

AL-SARIM [Lionhearts and Misfits] The lady seemed at ease now. This was good. Was she liking him displaying the more tamed side of him? Sarim had a weakness for a pretty face, he would admit that aloud. This one particular seemed to need more of a friend than a lover, and he was fine by that as well. She might have asked him to hunt down those that might be pursuing her and he might have happily obliged. When he moved forward he noted her nerves return though not as potent perhaps as before. He breathed out when she advised that he was doing quite well. She really was a pretty thing to behold as he found her face a darker shade to the rest of her slender bodice. Before long he was distracted by the bloodsuckers eating away at his flesh and he turned his attentions away before he did invite the lady to take a walk with him. She happily accepted his invitation...much to his delight of course. The sahib was interested in knowing more about those whom she might be fleeing from.
Even though it was daylight, the atmosphere in these thick woods was dark and dreary. And while no snow lay about, the temperatures were still quite cool, it would not be wise to be wandering here by night as winter's frost threatened to come down any day now.The beast respectfully let Ebony take lead, not that she needed any instruction there. "This place is odd do you venture here often?" The deep chocolate hued virile looked about as he walked on behind the velvet charcoal lady. He had to distract himself a bit since she was even more of a sight from behind, his eyes catching the sway of her hips before he turned his attentions to the surroundings. Oh how he might like to compose a verse of the joys of travelling with a woman, his used this to keep his mind occupied. "I do not often come here, but it makes for a good shelter when fleeing pursuers or in the heat of summer. I do not care for the pests though. And I do not find so much entertainment here when stallions forcibly lay claim on mares for their herds and harems. If I had not ended up taking that wrong turn, I might not be here to begin with...then too I would not have met you." He chanced to smile her way if she should chance to look back. The charm was ever-flowing from him but he was not sure a lady like Ebony would give into him, and so perhaps he would not be so lucky. Still she was pleasant company just the same. "I find it more mysterious than odd. A place like this makes for good poetry."

" I do not often come here, but it makes for good shelter when fleeing pursuers or in the heat of summer" this was correct the stallion was coming to realize why she had ran, Ebony let out a sigh and continued walking " I do not care for the pests though" Ebony couldn't help but laugh "I don't think they like you either" she looked back slightly at the stallion. Ebony was enjoying the brudes company and started thinking I wouldn't mind staying like this as she though the mare shoo her head she couldn't afford to think like that, " and I do not find much entertainment here when stallions forcibly lay claim on mares for their herds or harems" this made Ebony stop for only a second this pained Ebony greatly "yes.." she said in a very saddened low voice. "if I had not ended up taking that wrong turn, I might not be here to begin with. I find it mysterious than odd, a place like this makes for good poetry" Ebony once again recovered and the sound of the word poetry made her stop. Turning she looked to Sarim "could you tell me some then?" she felt a little embarrassed asking but she loved poetry.
This stallion was full of surprises and Ebony decided she would stick around to find them all out, she enjoyed this stallion he seemed kind a gentle. And though she was not ready to share why she ran if he could guess then she wouldn't have to tell but, when the time came and they where still with each other she would tell. Nudging Sarim with her shoulder and nose slightly she waited for his replie with a hopeful look. When the brude smiled at her once again Ebony's heart missed a beat, why was this happening? She wondered.

AL-SARIM [Lionhearts and Misfits] The mare at ease it was easy for Al-Sarim to piece things together about her simply by reading into her body language: how her breathing changed mildly, the moment she stopped, etc. The stallion had also been around. One sees a great deal of savagery in the midst of grace living in the desert as he had. Ebony's sufferings were perhaps severe and he was moved by this, though his dark eyes did not show it. Pity was perhaps the last thing one who suffers abuse needed let alone wanted. The loverboy that he was, how easily he was drawn to a woman in need...this was why he was so drawn to this charming maid. There were his physical urges as well but he was no savage. "I don't think they like you either." At this the sahib did not hesitate to reply in a playful, argumentative voice, "On the contrary, they must find me delectable the seem to be feasting on me more than anything else." To further emphasize this he stopped momentarily to shake himself off, flicking his tail once, then twice before grunting and continuing on after the charcoal blue lady.
Growing up, Sarim had easily been labeled for his quick-wit, charm, and his knack for mischief. As an adult his capabilities as a leader and tactical mastermind were also apparent. Before life was turned upside-down, there was likewise a growing appreciation for him as a story-teller and poet (as if he were not entertaining enough). He had come across few outside of the Old Kingdom and none in Mustang that bore even a semblance of interest in poetry. The dark virile felt her gentle nudge and stopped to look at her somewhat puzzled. Before long he shrugged and dropped his head slightly as in mock defeat, a playful smile on his face (in reality he was happy to oblige her this request). "It is difficult to deny a face like yours anything you ask my dear. Shall I offer a verse or two in exchange for a favor that I might ask of you later?" This might be strange to folks in Mustang but to a mercenary and a desert-born son (or in his case desert-adopted), this was not so uncommon. The virile did not wait for a reply before he continued walking on, his eyes seemed concentrated now as he sought to string his words together.
The ghost of my lover roams free Here in the darkness and the misty evergreen. Her eyes have gone cold, the wind does not move her The sun fails to reach and warm her skin.
At her ethereal touch I am paralyzed All my breath flees me and my heart is bared to her. The ice of her kiss envelops me All my wants and dreams and organs cease to stir.
The sparrows and wrens have fled, The evergreens stubbornly retain their colors But I have faded away like death Into the winter of my eternal lover.
Sarim sometimes entered a world of his own, his baritone vocals rhythmic and lulling as if in song. The beast finished and remain silent, still walking, not quite sure if Ebony was still there with him. This caused him to stop and turn to her now, thorns twitched. "Ah...I am a lowly patron of my trade Ebony, with still much to learn I must apologize."

"oh on the contrary, they must find be delectable they seem to be feasting on me more than anything else" the bride spoke watching him flick his tail made Ebony laugh slightly "I see why they would chose you" she said with a slight smile. "it's difficult to deny a face like yours anything you ask my dear. Shall I offer a verse or two in exchange for a favour that I might ask of you later?" what did he mean? Was he like the others? This sent panic through Ebony so she tried to calm herself he isn't like that I just know it! she thought. Before the mare could reply he began, so she listened. The ghost of my lover roams free Here in the darkness and the misty evergreen. Her eyes have gone cold, the wind does not move her The sun fails to reach and warm her skin. As Ebony listened she grew fascinated the brute was very talented indeed. Then he became silent and kept walking causing Ebony to pick up her pace to catch up as he stopped. "ah... I am a lowly patron of my trade Ebony, with still much to learn I must apologize" this confused ebony his poetry was beautiful. Ebony looked at him "don't apologize it was amazing and beautiful" she reassured. "I can do a little poetry myself" she boasted. ---- Ooc: ( vnes♥) I thought it was cute

AL-SARIM [Lionhearts and Misfits]
"I see why they would chose you" The sahib cocked a single brow as he looked at her, his smile a sly smirk as he looked to question with a hint of mischief what she could possibly mean by this. He had to admire her wit and charm. He laughed within himself seeing her mild panic at his suggestion of a favor. Ebony was adorable in that sense. There was nothing quite as honest as fear in the eyes of another. Fear brought out our most primal selves, and in the eyes of a woman it seemed to feed a stallion's ego. Sarim had no appetite to scare the lassies, but he rather loved the poetry of seen a woman's beautiful and vulnerable side.
The beast began his verses. He spun a tell of winter as she slowly took the life of a mighty oak heart, he thought it fitting to the season on the wing and the shadowy woodlands. "Don't apologize it was amazing and beautiful..." Sarim tilted his head humbly. "Thank you...I am flattered." He stopped momentarily his hind hoof reaching as he twisted his serpentine back so that he could scratch at his neck. This was usually a gesture common among colts although the dark bay virile executed with perfect balance. Old habits. Thorns pricked, his attentions fully to the minx with the shadowed face, a spark of interest in his dark eyes. "How was I to know I was in the midst of a fellow poet? Would you honor me with a verse then?" He stopped a bit and turned around to face Ebony, a mischievous smirk on his face, his voice playful. "This does not void a favor from you lo--ehm Ebony. Perhaps I shall also grant you a favor instead." Bartering was the way of trade in the desert so he offered something of value for something else of value. He waited now for the lady's reply.

"Thank you I am flattered" he spoke, with a small smile Ebony replied with a nod. Ebony laughed as she watched the habits of a colt take over Sarim, the mare had never seen another equine do that since she was a foal and this intrigued her. "How was I to know I was in the midst of a fellow poet? Would you honor me in a verse then?" Ebony thought about this, she wasn't nearly as good as Sarim but she had picked up talents when she was with the other herd. "This does not void a favour from you lo--ehm Ebony. Perhaps I shall also grant you a favour instead." Once again the mare couldn't help but give a light chuckle "you are so sure not to call me love, I am not nearly as good as you Sarim but I suppose just can do a verse" and so she began.
She, In the dark, Found light Brighter than many ever see
She, Within herself, Found loveliness, Through the souls own mastery
And now the world receives From her dower: The message of the strength Of inner power.
The mare shook her head a little embarrassed, "it definitely was not as good as yours or really made any since." she looked at the ground her ears back, she had never spoke these such words to anyone before so doing it not she simply was not ready. Waiting for a reply Ebony whisked her raven black tail not wanting to look at Sarim.

AL-SARIM [Lionhearts and Misfits]
The lady's laughter was sweet music to him, a nice change from the very controlled sneer he often got from a sultry temptress. Ebony was from a whole different part of the world, and her company was rather refreshing. He did not seem to realize the maid was laughing at his expense, or else if he realized it he dis not show any insult or indication of it. Ebony seemed hesitant about reciting a verse for him so the sahib gently whickered encouragement, his dark eyes warm and inviting and pleading like a child. Sarim clarified that he still anticipated a favor of her, and she seemed amused by his near slip of tongue. Thorns pricked forth to again catch her laughter. "You are so sure not to call me love, I am not nearly as good as you Sarim but I suppose just can do a verse..." Sarim was a proud hellion but was not one to boast as much as to humble himself. Of course a great poet never evaded an opportunity to exchange verses with another. "Come come Ebony...you are merely being modest." The way the virile spoke was somewhat exotic in a sense, his words like a prince crossed with a whining child in the voice of a cunning man who refused to grow up. The lady recited with lyrical precision.
She, In the dark, Found light Brighter than many ever see
She, Within herself, Found loveliness, Through the souls own mastery
And now the world receives From her dower: The message of the strength Of inner power.
The virile listened intently, his casual expression overtaken with the same seriousness as when he recited his own verses. His eyes were still downcast when he interrupted her statement. "A captive...or in the case a woman. She if she is free within her heart, then so she is free without as well. Do I...interpret this correctly?" Had Ebony perhaps been the subject of her verse? His eyes looked to her, that charming grin of his forming again as he waited for her diverted eyes to meet his. His knack for the awkward and direct was practically signature to him. "That was beautiful and honest. I am honored to have met a sister of the craft." The exchange of verses seemed to pass the time for as he turned to see where the path led, there was light at the end...the end of the misty woods. He wondered where Ebony planned to go next.

"A captive...or in the case a woman. She if she is free writhing her heart, then so she is free without as well. Do I ... interpret this correctly?" she heard the stallion question. Ebony handy give it much thought but within the harem she recently was in another old mare had created the poems and had told her, "Perhaps I guess it's up to us to find out what it means" the mare spoke. The mare finally looked up to see Sarim smiling stomping a hoof ebony put her ears back " I knew it was bad your smiling! she neighed. " that was beautiful and honest. I am honored to meet a sister of the craft" listening to this Ebony gave a slight snort "yeah right" she didn't think it was as good as the brude's and he was just trying to be kind. With a sigh Ebony followed Sarim's gaze a sadness swept over her, this most likely ment they where to part ways now and Ebony would once again be alone. "So erm. What now? she questioned her ears pinned back, Ebony did not want to part ways having a horse like him around seemed like great news for her.
The mare walked to Sarim's side and looked up at him curiosity and sadness in her eyes. If they did part ways the mare did not know what she would do, where was she even exactly, just simply parting ways with this stallion seemed unbelievably hard but she must have known this would happen. Waiting for a reply Ebony continued to look up at him.
