There was something calming about beaches, perhaps it was the way moisture and salt always indulged in the air or maybe it was the way the sun was always reflecting off of calm waters.  Either way, Anneli found peace in it.  The light grey mare danced down the beach, grains of sand collecting on her shining coat.  Just by watching the mare you could see how free spirited she was, it was like at any moment she was gonna spread her wings and take flight.  She was graceful, her small bodice moved with ease.  She was like that of a bird, a dove, beautiful and free.  No one could tame her but at the same time she wasn't wild, she was simply free.

You would think that the mare had never seen a dark moment in her life but she had honestly seen more heartbreak in her short six years than most would see in a life time.  She would simply smile, shrug it off, and continue on with her life.  She was strong and always had been, before leaving home her mom had said to her "Anneli, you will do great things in your lifetime, but only if you leave here.  Go, explore, do amazing things!"  And with that, Anneli had left.  From the beginning she had always been the "pick of the litter" so it broke both her and her mother's hearts when she finally decided to leave.

The mare sighed before easing deeper into the water, this was the only thing that reminded her of home.  Where she came from there was sandy beaches and water front for miles and it was beautiful.  It was always warm there too, that was the thing she most loved.  Here, you never knew how the weather was going to be.  She had just witnessed her first winter and had hated it.  She was going to enjoy the sandy beaches while she could.

"CATCH A STAR IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND"

Charlie didn't know where the winds were taking him. He had travelled these pathways for years, but never had he felt such a whim. It was much thanks to his beautiful Adrasteia that he felt this youth, complete devotion and love had made the old man finally realize what is good and what is bad. All the mistakes he had made, all whom he had heart, yes... Charlie had finally learned maturity. What life was meant for. The dunskin exhaled a lengthy whinny as he approached the boarder of the cove, wondering if any one was around, because he would have appreciated some company. Today, of all days, while his lover spent time with her family and their son; their pride; so he was left alone.

The older man never missed someone so much.

He sighed, letting the heat of the sand crawl up his hoof and through his ankle like a sudden burst of energy. The dunskin started off in a slow trot, head throwing upward and snorting. Charlie didn't realize that someone was amidst these ocean waves, his eyes didn't find them until he was halfway down the beach, heading straight for the oceans embrace. Once the woman was in view, his heart skipped a beat and he skid to a stop, throwing up damp sea sand. His audits pinned upward, nares flaring from the rush of adrenaline that was crawling throughout all of his body. A wash of hormones, the youth that he rightfully should not have had. “I apologize. I didn't think...” he chewed the inside of his lip, shrugging. “Didn't think anyone would have been here.”
