Mixen is something of a spitfire. The little mare has plenty of energy and loves to burn it all with one good run. She's a curious mare, always letting something of interest get the better of her which often times leads to trouble. She tends to have unpredictable mood swings. Each day varies, so there's no telling what mood she'll be in next. Mixen isn't easily spooked. Actually, she's a rather solid mare as far as braveness goes. She sometimes speaks in riddles and more often than not has a very soft voice. She doesn't let much get to her, especially others. When insulted, she merely assumes that one is jealous of her. Speaking of jealousy, Mixen can be quite the jealous mare herself. What's hers is hers and no one is going to take it from her without a fight. She's protective in every aspect of the word, even over those she knows nothing about. Mixen is the type of mare to see someone in trouble and rush to their aid without a second thought. She doesn't like talking about herself and hates being asked questions constantly. She enjoys long walks by herself, especially when she slips into a depression. Mixen doesn't take kindly to authority and feels very strongly about controlling her own life and making her own decisions. She does things her way or no way at all.
History:
Mixen's life was relatively simple. It was only her, her mother, and her father. The trio did everything together, though Mixen had more of an independent streak in her. Her father taught her how to defend herself and her mother taught her patience and how to prosper. Mixen's world was a simple one. There was the occasional danger, but for the most part, she had it easy. There were no siblings to compete with, and no large herd to live among. Her small family traveled from place to place, never feeling the urges to settle in.
Mixen left her small family on good terms after her mother became pregnant again. Feeling her parents now needed to focus on the foal-to-be, it was time for Mixen to start a life of her own and perhaps even a family. The mare has only traveled alone for a few weeks and plans to find a home as soon as possible.
