This is one hell of a place To keep your heart from freezing To keep yourself believing
Spring was well and truly upon them, the pleasant morning sun warming the young man's back. The Lowland Marsh was not a place he had explored before, but Adaza had never really left the Hollow before now, not by choice anyway. He stopped to look out over the landscape, eyes following a pair of herons who flapped their massive wings as they flew low over the marsh, scaring other smaller birds as they glided in to land. There was beauty here, and plenty of it, but careful danger laced the marsh, hidden bogs scattered intermittently. Adaza himself was spattered with muddy water up to his belly.
The sound of approaching, squelching hooves caught his attention and blue optics swivelled to see a mare. She was a little taller than him, and her skin was the colour of the sun when it came up and went down, with warm brown eyes he noticed as she came closer. Her ears were cute, the way their tips curved toward each other, and they made him grin. "Hello," He said, still smiling.

california
She was a fragment of gold amongst the ugly marsh, but the wheat colored grasses blended against her skin. She crept slow at first, sweat collecting along her shoulders, legs dirty from the mud, but she retained a high crown and a small smile. California had stumbled upon the man unexpectedly, and she was lonely now with her son off starting his own life. Since Kuuna had left her, she hadn't made much of an attempt to find company. And Bears Den was drab, gray; a tension hung in the air, a new risen darkness that she did not favor.
So, the golden woman left. California had then found him, standing alone and taking in the sun. She imagined it felt nice, his skin as black as the night sky behind your eyelids. But he was marked in white, tattooed all over, and something about his eyes made her come forth. She wasn't surprised that he noticed her, and when he did, California let a toothy grin spread over her ash lips. Her curved audits pricked forward, picking up a slow trot the last few feet. The Native stopped, feet away, listened to his hello and nickered back. “Salutations, friend,” California cooed, “in good wisdoms, do you come?”

Love is gonna kill Faith is gonna blind Hope is gonna fade The truth is gonna lie Sometimes there's no reason To justify the meaning
Her voice was sweet, like honey drifting into expectant ears. Adaza felt his heqart flutter slightly in a way it had never before. It was literally stirring in his chest, and he looked at this girl urgently, trying to understand what was so very captivating about her.
Yes, she was as stunning as the sun and moon put together, soft caramel skin smoother than a stone which had been in the clutches of the ocean for a thousand years, but the tattooed boy was not on for aesthetics. This might be the first time he'd seen a pretty lady outside his home, but this one was different.
“Salutations, friend,in good wisdoms, do you come?” She asked, those smouldering eyes locking the boy in place. "I do miss, never could you find a man less intent on hurting a lady." He grinned, his tone light and humorous. "Can I ask what a fine young lady such as yourself is doing out here alone. Don't you have a family to be with or someone to protect you." Adaza wasn't one for taking risks, and he certainly didn't want anyone getting ambushed while travelling alone, stranger or not. "I'm Adaza, by the way."
