ANNAMAE MARE, 2 YRS, MIXED BREED, BAY ROAN W/ CORNMARKS Hank and Zinnia had left Anna and her brother alone, he claimed they wouldn't be too long. Anna wasn't worried that the two had been left alone, she was certain her brother was able to protect her if any danger would come to them. The small family had remained in the grove even though her father had given up his dream of a herd. For some reason the mares and her other siblings had just up and disappeared. It was strange and something she had often thought about. Her mother had even disappeared shortly after Anna was weaned, it had hurt her. She never had shown it, but her mother up and leaving really hurt her and it made her stick even closer to her father. When he had brought Zinnia and Mason back home Anna was filled with happiness and since then she had looked at Zinnia as a mother figure.
Mason was the only remaining sibling that she was aware of and the fact she was blessed to have some sibling time had lightened her mood for the day. Moving through the grove the young mare stayed within the shadows of the trees. Her home was cool with all the shade the trees provided. She was looking for her brother, wondering where in the world he had wondered off to. She wanted to spend some time with him and it seemed he was hiding from her. Tossing her head she nickered, calling out to him and hoping he was close by. They should stick close together with their parents gone. Since this land was unclaimed there was a good chance that any day another stallion would chase them out and she wanted to be sure that if it was this evening that her and her brother would leave together, unharmed.

Mason had missed the memo that his parents had taken the day off, instead he was off exploring, wanting to learn the territory even more. He hadn't been able to learn much of it as a foal before he'd been whisked away with his mother to a foreign stallion's herd. He held no grudge against the former brute, but he definitely felt he'd missed out on allot not being home and raised by his father. Gratefully his strong sire had rescued him and his mother, though they were in no danger in the least, Mason liked to think that Hank had rightfully taken them back. So often these last few months he'd been familiarizing himself with everything he should have learned by heart as a colt. Sadly his father had given up the herd as it seemed when Zinnia and himself had returned to the herd, most of the members seemed to have just.. left. With no say of why or how come. Made it lonely upon arrival. But he had good faith with how mighty his sire was, they'd have a herd built back up in no time.
A nicker made his harks prick upon his oversized crown, his still lanky yearling stage seemed to linger with his draft breeding and slower growth, his legs were long though thick still his knees looked knobby and his neck shoulders and rump were not even close to being completely filled out. So overall it looked like his head was still a bit to big for his neck to handle, he back had yet to lengthen out enough to make his proportions to look even at all. He truly couldn't wait till his growth spurts were done so he'd look as majestic as his father. Considering himself in the ugly stage, even his pretty bay roan coat was changing on him, starting from the grey goggles that surrounded his eyes from birth, a dark grey hue was slowly creeping from his head down his neck and body. As well starting from the meeting of hard hoof to soft skin on his legs. Slowly were his legs turning a dark dappled charcoal grey. He just looked all screwed up with less than filled out body and odd color changing pelt.
Recognizing the nicker, it was his sister, though he liked to refer to her as little sister, she even seemed to be starting to out grow him in height as well. Great the one he cared to protect the most was going to be bigger than him. What luck. Either way there seemed to be a little bit of distress in her tone as if she was searching for him. Mason's nose scrunched in curiosity of what she needed him for. Either way he smiled as he turned course and began to trot in the direction he'd heard her. Soon enough Annamae came into view, slowing down and trying to be quiet as he snuck up on her from a rear blind spot, till he was a few feet away. Surging forward to nip her lightly on her roan bay rump, "Gotcha sis!" He chuckled prancing out beside her with a smirk, "What's up? Where's mom and dad?" Asking curiously noticing they weren't any where and their scents were old and stale already, meaning they hadn't been here for awhile already.

ANNAMAE MARE, 2 YRS, MIXED BREED, BAY ROAN W/ CORNMARKS She slowed her pace finding it hard to spot him when she was moving fast. Looking left, looking right, and peering around trees to try and spot his bay roan form. She too was in an odd growth stage, but it seemed she was growing better then her brother was. She was beginning to thicken up and her feathers on her hooves growing longer. Thick with draft breeding the young filly still had some growing to do. She would grow to be thick and heavy muscled like both her parents, but shorter like her mother was. She would be a nice looking robust girl that would certainly be able to hold her own, not many horses in these lands had heavy draft breeding like she did.
Snorting she continued to move forward and to look around for her brother hopeful that he hadn't traveled out of shady grove. If this search would last any longer the poor girl would worry that her brother fell into some danger. Though expectantly a nip came to the flesh of her rump and she jumped, squealing in surprise. Mason was lucky that she wasn't in the position to kick at him. Turning around she realized it was Mason and laughed shaking her head. She soon settled and looked to her brother.
"Father said they were going to take a walk and would be back later this evening," she said as she flicked her tail. "So it's just you and me."
