As the warm summer air was swept away by the cool fall breeze the brown stud made his way into the dark damp forest trying to see through the entanglement of branches and vines. He wasn't looking for someone to force himself upon but perhaps to bring out of this dark forest. It would be winter soon and the food would be scarce as well as shelter. "This forest is similar to one from my homeland except for the fact that it wasn't a place where mares were forced or attacked." he murmured to himself. He shook his mane and picked his pace up to a trot when he spotted a light ahead.
When he reached the open spot he stopped and scanned his surroundings. He spotted nothing so he decided to stop there for the reminder of the day. There was plenty of grass and a small stream to keep his stomach satisfied for a few hours or longer. He grazed some before laying down in the sun and resting. In the quiet he often returned to the days of his past. Not that he wished to return for both his masters were gone, but those days were happy as well. He closed his eyes and sighed returning to the green pastures of his homeland.

Jersey's eyes narrowed at the sight of him, head raising just slight to sound her curiosity. It was not everyday that someone passed her this way, muttering to themselves, complaining about the lands which they traipsed. Normally, she'd laugh, bat her eyes and maybe dance for him. But today she is angry - and she doesn't know why. Through the shadows, the red dun emerges, a nasty grin pulling against her pearly whites. She is untouchable, she's learned that through four years of loneliness. And this man doesn't seem all too vicious. “Why come then?” she asks, cocking her head to one side to stand at her tallest.

Brego was brought out of his daydream by light footsteps. He lifted his head and when he saw the mare he stood up quickly. He smiled at her reply and turned to face her. "Perhaps I'm here to rescue someone from others who would have different intentions." he replied his accented voice flowing smoothly from his dark lips. "I could turn the question to you and ask what brought you here." he added sensing her cool anger. He circled her slowly taking in how the last of summers warm rays bounced of her red coat waiting for her reply. She reminded him of a mare he once ran with as a young energetic colt in training. The only difference was the other mare was more timid than this one seemed to be, but he'd only just met her and who was he to be comparing when he only knew her to be angry at the moment.

The woman's cowls at Brego, because she is almost disgusted with what he speaks. She has the mind of a man; a woman stupid enough to cross these boarders, they deserve to be forced and crumbled and captured. That is why they exist. It's like supply and demand, even survival of the fittest. Jersey travels the Misty Forest because she is brash. And she will not be taken advantage of by a man, but she will prevail as one. True, she likes the sex and a mans beauty. But there is something in the air - and she is searching for purpose. The women shrugs her shoulder, auburn curls bouncing in waves, head shaking again. “A real gentleman you must think you are.”
She does not know him. And she wonders for a second what it truly is to be a leader. So she traces her tongue over her teeth, that spiteful grin plays her lips after and her green eyes stare into the man. You cannot trust her, but Jersey wants you to. She wants a place to keep her pretty trinkets, and she wants be the leader of her own band. “I think that you are mindless. A weak woman is useless.”

Brego listened to her reply and felt at once that this mare was definitely not a normal one. He would just have to play her game if he wanted to win. "I try." he replied a wry grin on his face. He knew by her actions she was not one to be easily flattered by his usual charming ways. He would just have to be more rouge in this situation. "I will take that as a compliment. Even men have their weak points m'lady, so don't think they are always in control." he said. He chuckled and stopped by her side shaking his head. "I am mistaken though, aren't I?" he added turning his head towards her waiting for her to explain. He saw her as a challenge and he wasn't one to give up easily.
