Name: Aryel
Gender: Female
Breed: Sable Island Pony-Kiger Mustang mix
Age: Two
Arrived in MUSTANG: Spring, Year 6
Coat Color: Blue Roan Dun
Height: 14 hands
Eye Color: Dark blue
Personality: Aryel is a fiery-tempered girl, fiercely independent and determined to see as much of the world as she can. She has a bit of an issue with authority and dislikes being ordered around. This doesn't mean she's a pathological rebel, anyone who does earn her respect with find a very loyal horse under all that attitude. Speaking of attitude, one could say she has way too much for a horse who's not much larger than a pony. Arrogant or cruel horses make enemies with her easily, and she detests those who would immediately disregard her for being small, female, or inexperienced in combat. A softer side does exist, but is usually only shown around youngsters and close friends.
History: Aryel was born a princess in a herd that barely ranged outside their staked-out land. Their territory was a land where canyon, desert, and seashore all met, far to the southwest. The herd had it's hardships, but they were well-adapted to their land and thrived. Aryel was just another filly born to her father's harem, and she knew she didn't have much of a future ahead of her, aside from being part of a political marriage when she came of age. Add in an overbearing noblemare mother who condemned her daughter's tomboyish behavior and allowed her to learn nothing but the workings of courtly intrigue and more "feminine" skills (instead of practical things like combat, for instance), and the songs and stories of adventure she heard from the herd bard, and Aryel was itching to leave. Under cover of night, she slipped away, relinquishing her titles and power for the life of a nomad.
