Name: Chess
Gender: Mare
Breed: Anglo Arabian (TBxArabian)
Age: 6 years
Arrived in MUSTANG: Autumn, Year Six
Coat Colour: Non fading black
Height: 16.2hh
Eye Colour: Pale blue
Personality: Chess is a lover of company and great, close friends but she doesn't care for small talk. She does however love being a leader, and someone who younger equines might look up to. Confident, sure of herself and not afraid to cross boundaries to get what she wants, other animals would probably see Chess as pushy, arrogant and self-centered, but inside is a heart of gold. It's hard to truly earn her respect and trust, but once you've cracked her, you'll have a loyal friend for life. Not much scares her, but heights and the rare night where there is no moon. Chess can never sleep or remain still on any night where cloud covers the moon, as her family was attacked on such a night.
History: Chess was the the first born in her little herd, which consisted of her mother, father, a full brother and two half brothers, as well two mares and their foals that had joined weeks after Chess' birth. Her father left when she was three, and her mother (who was old for a horse, and Chess was probably her last foal) gave Chess the responsibility and honour of leading the small band. For two years this was perfect, Chess' herd grew in numbers until there were ten sets of hooves pounding the earth behind behind her as they galloped wherever they wanted, until a pack of hungry wolves discovered them. Chess had no problem fighting off the rabid creatures but her frail mother simply couldn't, and her throat was bitten straight through. All of the foals were killed, everyone but Chess and her full brother, Deade (Dee-A-Day). Deade had never liked his sister, because she was such a good leader and he was to do much the coward to challenge her. So he blamed her, and they went their separate ways. Now Chess is looking to regain her lost leadership, but she has yet to learn the laws of the lands of MUSTANG.
