Personality: Grace is a gentle young mare. She's quiet and shy, and often has a difficult time standing up for herself. She wants to make everyone happy - which of course doesn't always happen. She's a follower by nature, never taking the lead and can be extremely indecisive. However, she is quite good at hearing people's problems, and makes a good friend. She is caring and likable, and is only ever comfortable in a big group of horses, which is how she grew up. She is also very intelligent and observant - nothing really gets past her. She's incredibly good at reading people, and can often tell when somebody is lying to her. The only thing is, nobody knows about this because she never really says anything. She cares more about others than herself to a fault, and it takes a special friend (or lover) to get her to really open up and talk to you. The only equines she ever feels comfortable talking with are the young ones, usually foals six months or under. She can talk and play with them freely because they are uncomplicated and honest. She is a great lover of honesty.
History: Although many do not know it, Grace has a very tragic past. Her father was slaughtered by a pair of stallions determined to take his herd, and she watched him die. She was only four months old at the time. When the two stallions divvied up the prizes, she and her mother were torn apart, and the filly was forced to fend for herself, and try to keep up with the fast moving group. The stallion was a ruthless, aggressive ruler, frightening his mares into submission with his massive size and powerful voice. Yet as fate would have it, his life was cut short when they reached the mountains. A thunderstorm swept in, and the beast was struck and killed by lightening.
The mares scattered, and Grace was left alone, and terrified. It was a miracle that she made it out of the mountains alive, and was soon found and claimed by another stallion. This one wasn't so terrible, but he was by no means a gentleman. For the next two years, she was passed from one stallion to the next, stolen and moved, barely getting to know anyone for any real period of time. She was small, quiet and shy, and wasn't of much value to anyone, so she went from more herds than she can remember. Finally, she slipped away when another stallion came to challenge, and a fight raged. Needing some time alone, she's been wandering for a few months, but will soon go mad with loneliness if she does not find a herd soon, and she can only pray that the stallion is nice.
