she grew up in a place where the sun would set for weeks and never go down; there were always feathers in her hair and bright eyes on the horizon. she lived with the two-leggeds, sort of: they fed her and brushed her but she stayed away from them when she could. home was freezing, there was always snow under your feet and glaciers under the sky, but fire lived, it thrived, it caught. the two-leggeds burned; alone, she escaped, only to find herself here, desperate and lonely.
