WELCOME TO MUSTANG V2. Thank you for taking the time to read our rules.
* New or updated rules are in red!
GENERAL:
GENERAL: >> We are strong believers in mutual respect. Whether you are a new member or a staff member, you will be respected and treated equally and fairly. >> One account per member, please. >> After posting your character's bio, please wait for them to be accepted by a staff member before posting. >> If new members do not post within 14 days, their account will be deleted. >> Cursing is not allowed out of character, in the chat box or in thread titles in order not to drive off new members, but may be used in any in character posts. >> If members are inactive for 1-2 months without an absence post their account will be deleted. >> Three weeks are equal to one season. >> Power-playing: General biting/nipping/touching allowed, as this helps keep things exciting. The only exception to this rule are lead mares and stallions, as sometimes they need a bit more power to make sure their rank is respected as it should be. To this end they may power-play with the members of their herd - no matter what land they're in! They may also power-play to punish unwelcome trespassers or to chase them from their land. Such power-playing examples include inflicting mild wounds, dodging any retaliation and herding (chasing away). Beyond these exceptions/allowances no power-playing or god-moding is allowed. >> Please keep a character log and link to it in your signature, mini-profile, or posts. No one likes having to search for information about the character they are replying to. >> Pictures must have credits, and may not be wider than 550 pixels. Remember to get your photos from stock providers, such as DeviantArt and Flickr, NOT google. >> If you are caught stealing someone else's picture it will be removed immediately, and upon second offense you will be banned. >> Members may buy and sell merchandise. POSTING:
>> Liquid time (characters being in multiple threads/areas at once) is allowed. >> There is a minimum word count of 250 for IC posts. >> No chat speak should be used within posts. >> A thread may be reserved for another player or character. >> However, you may not "claim" an open thread. By this, I mean you may not make a post in a open thread that says "I claim this! Post coming!" because then other members that have the time to get a response up and get rp'ing don't have the chance to reply. >> Try to stick with posting order. If there are three characters in one thread, you should each respond in order. CHARACTERS:
>> Only horses are allowed, with the exception of purchased pets. These may not be roleplayed alone, however. >> Keep in mind that these are wild horses and don't tend to live over 15 or 20 years. >> Mares may not be joined already pregnant. >> All characters age one year in the Spring. >> You may play as many lead mares and stallions as you like. However, you may only have one character with a claimed land in their name.
HERDS:
>> Herds are settled in one claimable land, versus harems, which can wander into any territory. >> Only mares and stallions three years or older may lead a herd. >> Claiming may be done in any public land. However, force-claiming may only be done in a claimed herd land or in Misty Forest. >> In order for a horse to be considered part of a herd or harem, a post in which that horse is "claimed" must be played out. >> Only lead stallions and mares may claim other horses. >> Both mares and stallions may join herds/be stolen. >> Herd statistics must be kept updated in the herd board. Harem statistics must be kept updated in the Harem Logs board. This is important so that other members can keep track of which horses are where. If staff notices that they have not been updated, they will PM you and ask you to do so. >> Herds must be active and herd leaders must be posted once every two weeks. Herd meetings should be called at least once a year. >> You must have at least 100 posts and one herd member in order to claim a land. >> To claim a land, you will be required to prove herd activity with a minimum post/thread count. Please check the land you want to claim for the form that must be filled out. >> Each member is allowed only one free claimed land. If you want a second, you must buy it. >> After claiming/winning/defending a land, the new/victorious lead has a one season rest period in which s/he cannot be challenged. >> A mare or stallion may not leave the herd against the lead's will. (Please post in that lead's herd or herd log if your stallion or mare leaves the herd.) >> A lead will lose their lands if s/he becomes inactive. S/he needs to be posted at least once every two weeks! The staff will judge activity accordingly.
SUB HERDS:
>> A "sub herd" is a herd that lives on a land already occupied by the main herd. >> A sub herd does not need to prove activity in order to share land. >> A sub herd may only exist if the main herd allows such. >> The main herd may set terms for the sub herd. >> Only one sub-herd per main herd land allowed. >> More, in detail, information found in the "HERD FAQ".
CHALLENGING/STEALING:
>> All judged fights must be played out in Battle Gorge. >> Steals are only to be attempted in the steal board. There is a form in the board which states all the info that a steal needs and that should be copied and pasted when a steal is attempted. >> Both mares and stallions may steal so long as they are over three years old. >> You do not already need a herd/harem member to steal. >> You must have at least 50 posts to steal. >> You must have at least 100 posts and a harem or herd member to challenge for land. >> In depth battle rules located in Battle Gorge! >> In depth steal rules located in Steal board! BREEDING:
>> Force breeding is allowed if both players consent. >> No graphic breeding is allowed, with no exceptions. This violates ProBoards terms and conditions as well as on-site rules. >> Breeding is done in spring. >> Birthing is done in autumn of the same year. >> Foals turn one the spring after they were born. >> In order to breed, post your characters stats in the "BREEDING" board using the correct form inside. >> Twins can only be purchased with Gemstones. View the store for more info/options. >> For a mare to give birth, simply post a birthing thread in the "BIRTHING" board. This should be brief, and does not have to meet the word count of other IC posts. >>If a pregnant mare goes inactive, the member that plays the foal’s father may post in the birthing board explaining that the mare has gone inactive, and then their foal will not be deemed stillborn. >> In order to breed, the two horses breeding must have had a recent thread together. This link is required in order to fill out the breeding form, and should have been roleplayed in within one week.
Rules subject to change at any time. Message a staff member with any questions.
