History:
Born and raised on and island just off of Mustang's vast coast, Bastion knew little hardship in his life until just recently. His island home was void of predators, snow in winter was rare, and lush green grasses remained for most every season. He grew up at his mother's side as a youngster, playing with his half-siblings, and left the herd once he reached maturity. Spending a number of his adolescent years as the leader of a small bachelor herd, he took his first chance to start a harem of his own when he passed his fourth year. His first love was a beautiful filly who went by the name of Aspen, with a black-speckled coat as white as the caps of the waves; she became his queen. In his seventh year, they were finally graced with a foal, a beautiful little colt they named Slate.

As autumn drew to a close in his eighth year, a menacing storm dug its rain-lashing claws into the island's sandy shores. Wind howling, herds scattered, and Bastion found himself lost. Catching a glimpse of Aspen on the beach, through the driving rain, he attempted to follow after her into the storm only to be caught up and swept away in a rogue wave. Dragged out with the relentless tides, beaten by waves and frozen by the icy water, it seemed as though seasons passed before he finally managed to struggle his way back to solid ground... but it wasn't his island he'd washed up on.
