Personality:
Quint is a rather quiet individual that won't go out of his way to speak or be vocal. Rather passive and low aggression, he's wise to know when not to cause a fuss. To a point he has a "I don't care" or "whatever" attitude about things. If things are being negative he'd rather not be in the situation or try to turn things around so they are more of a positive out look. He believes in loyalty, honor, respect, chivalry, honesty and selflessness. With that said he so doesn't care about himself, in the meaning of he'll throw himself in danger for a stranger not caring the amount of damage he'll obtain, he won't be overly careful with himself and he'll take pain and hurt straight forward as if he welcomes it. At times one could swear he's almost daring death to challenge him and take him.
Its obvious there's a hollowness in his gaze that can't ever be fixed. His soul is lifeless with no spark to rekindle it. Hiding much of himself to the world, Quint will always be that anonymous bystander that just saved a foal's life and then is mysteriously gone without anyone realizing he disappeared till its to late to thank him. He doesn't want or need recognition, he's just a floating soul doing good deeds to make up for past demons he'll never escape. A chosen loner, he prefers not to let others see himself on his bad days as he can get drunk on self pity and hate, tormenting himself for his past failures. He'd be furious if another caught him at such a degraded and weak point in life with his walls down.
History:
A long time ago as a colt he was apart of a homestead farm, he doesn't remember much of it as from a fire started by bandits allowed his escape with his matron. They joined up with a wild herd of the area that from there Quint was raised mostly normal wild foal, though he still had the pull towards men at times, when he was three he departed from the band as a bachelor. Traveled various ranges till he found a small ranch with a huge free roaming herd of horses. From there Quint fell in love with a domesticated dame, of whom came in foal to Quint within the year they were together. He didn't mind being apart of this ranch owned free grazing herd so long as he was with his loved one. She was the beauty of the world to him and he to her, they were both extremely excited about the child on the way, nothing would make them happier.
But happy endings never happen. Time of year soon after foaling has begun, Quint has a strong son with his mate wobbling at their sides now. The ranchers decide its time to gather the herd and do headcount, not caring or realizing he was caught up in it all as he was going to stay by his mate's side no matter what. As they were in a corral he was separated as the men noticed he was a new addition to the herd and wanted to lay claim to his hide quickly, he wasn't that docile yet, so he gave them one hell of a run for their money. For his sake they never managed to lay that iron brand on his rump. At that time though they had divided the herd into a group of expecting mares and mares with their foals and geldings and stallions in another pen. They picked off mares and foals they were selling verse keeping, Quint's mate and colt were chosen for sale. Quint was going crazy being separated and isolated in the pen he was in.
That night while all the horses were allowed to rest, a massive thunderstorm hit and with the dry lands it wasn't a surprise that several lightening strikes started bush fires that soon started the whole range in blazing flames. With all the horses in panic they busted up all the corrals and pens, all but the sale pen as that was separated completely. Quint could get free but his love and child were in danger. Flames had already engulfed the barn and house of the ranchers, the humans were running around in panic, grabbing what horses they could and running for safety. Quint was going insane trying to bust down the fence of the mare/foal sale pen, needing to get his mate and foal to safety he wasn't going to leave even if the flames took him. Tragically lightening struck the pen of mares and foals, frying most of them, even his dearly beloved and son, in horror he was at a complete lost of how to take in what happened. It took a rancher vigorously chasing after him to get him to save himself from the disaster.
Since then its unknown what the stallion has done besides be a bachelor for life and not bothering to get close to another soul. Quint has no goal in mind with life anymore, death has skipped him several times since then even when he throws himself at it. Death won't take him even though he has nothing left to live for. In ways Quint is just waiting out Death till he finally crosses it the last time and the final brual is his to finally fall. Till then though bumps in the road will perhaps make his life more interesting.
