Personality: Magnolia is still developing and her personality will reflect primarily on the events that occur throughout the rest of her foalhood. Currently she is shy and awkward around other horses but when alone or with those she trusts she is full of energy and silliness and hope. She has a wisdom that is beyond her years but seems to forget her sense when it comes to her own dealings. She can give good advice but rarely takes it and when she wants something she dives right in without thinking of the consequences. She is young and naïve but has confidence issues, since her mother never wanted her she has trouble believing that she is worth much no matter how much her father builds her up. Tucker is very overprotective and Magnolia sneaks about a lot, just looking to find her own way and make her own mistakes without Tucker hovering over her every word and decision.
History: Magnolia was born into a small herd and from the very start of her life her mother was seldom around and when she was physically present she was obviously emotionally somewhere else. Magnolia became very close with her father and a yearling named Camilla whose mother had joined the herd shortly before Magnolia was born. Tucker had eyes only for Clara, Magnolias mother, and was very distant from the other mares in his care but he always showered attention on Magnolia. When she was nearly six months old her mother left them and she was witness to a bitter argument between the two. Tucker tried to keep his words soft for the benefit of his daughter but Clara was vicious with her words and Magnolia knew in that moment that her mother never truly cared for her. She was broken by that and felt for a good while that maybe she wasn’t worth much, if her only mother could leave her so easily, and say goodbye to her father while pretending Magnolia didn’t even exist. Her father woke her early the next day and insisted that they were leaving, just the two of them, and they traveled for a time. He would not speak of what had happened between Clara and himself and refused to stop for long anywhere. Magnolia became restless over the months, desiring friends and a place to call home. She became bitter toward her father as she matured into nearly a yearling. She tired of traveling and wished only to settle in one place and form relationships – to feel like a real foal and have a true childhood… which she felt was nearly passed anyways. At her insistence they have settled here for a while.
