I could go into every gaping detail about this stallion, but it was take pages and pages and pages upon books, and novels—and personally you don’t have time to read that and I don’t have the energy or patience to do so. So, were gonna manage hitting the basics that make this sexy thing tick. Thanatos is very complex, not average and not easy by any means. His life has been quite the trial, testing his patience, testing his will power, and testing his soul. Life isn’t always beautiful and he can be of witness of that. Thanatos can come across very serious and judgmental but really he isn’t. Due to his military and leadership experience and lifestyle, one could say he is harsh. But really after living a certain way all your life you can’t just switch it off. Deep down, Thanatos is a kind soul, with many fears and questions while he keeps a tough rocky exterior. He doesn’t like anyone to see his gorgeous smile or sense of humor. He was never able to live or be himself—and truth be told he doesn’t know how to.
Impersonal - Thanatos is really a chatty guy. Definitely one to break the ice. His social skills are next to none and it seems that he doesn’t mine it. Of course this trait can look negative—in fact when speaking with her he can seem like an asshole. Exhibit A: You asked him how is he doing? He will answer with, “Fine.” Nothing more. Usually one would be polite and ask back but honestly he doesn’t care and honestly isn’t comfortable enough asking. He’s not trying to be insensitive or rude but Thanatos just isn’t a personal guy. You will never find him prying for answers or asking what’s wrong when there is clearly something wrong. In all honesty he’d make a horrible boyfriend. It seems as if he doesn’t give a shit about anything but deep down he just never learned the skill to be personally and kind. Maybe with enough interaction and someone to help he might be able be a decent soul.
Tough - Yes, he has the whole tough guy persona going on. Let it be emotional or physical, he won’t show one lick of pain. He was taught crying is not an option—it made one look weak and feeble and that is now Thanatos . You could stab him in the throat and he would just take it. Luckily he does have a high pain tolerance but only physically. He doesn’t take shit from nobody. You can poke and prod at him all you want and he’ll act as if nothing hurts. Emotionally this boy is in shambles. His childhood was not rainbow and butterflies, it was rules and tough love. There was so much he missed out on and it seems he has never emotionally grown up. You’d never know it but this boy is in a world of hurt. His heart aches daily. He wants to feel, he wants to love but it seems due to his tough guy exterior he won’t let anything or anyone inside to soften him up. Nope, Thanatos is one tough mother.
Secluded - Growing up alone, working alone, living your whole life alone only makes it easy to be secluded. Maybe its that Thanatos wants to be secluded but he’s lived his entire life alone so it’s the only thing he knows. He has a hard time talking to family, let alone strangers. IF f you come across him on your path, don’t expect a single word unless you approach him first. He always keeps to himself. He’d rather travel at night and in the dark shadows to keep any chances running into someone and having to produce small talk. He is a man of few words—keeps things nice and short. Thanatos sleeps alone, eats alone, travels alone; Thanatos lives alone and wants it that way… or does he.
Fearless - Is there such thing as fearless? Most likely not but Thanatos rious might be the closest thing to it. With all his training and history, he’s seen it all. He’s seen massacre, blood shed, rape, and death. There is little he fears. Of course as a colt there was fear but his father beat the fear right out of Thanatos . He was trained to be a warrior, trained to fight until his last dying breath with as much vigor and strength than when he started. It also helps that he really has nothing to live for, he has no kin, no lover, little family—so what is there to lose? When there is danger, he is the first one to step forward to face it. Thanatos will always lay his life down to save other—he’s a warrior. What comes with fearlessness is his leadership. He might not give the best pep talk to boost moral but he will take the first step in to the battle, first step into unknown enemy territories. Thanatos does not fear death, for death is inevitable.
Modest - One would think a ridiculously good looking, fearless, warrior would be a complete asshole right? Well most are but luckily, Thanatos was graced with modesty. Well I guess you could say the modesty was beat into him. All his life he was pushed down and reminded to be humble. So as a grown adult he’s kept his modesty and good manners in check. You won’t find him being cocky, ill tempered, or flaunting about like a fool. Oh no, he knows better than that. His a quite soul who would rather have his good deeds go unnoticed. He can’t stand other thanking or praising him. Unlike most, he doesn’t help other for the praises, he does it out of the goodness of his heart and the values he lives by. If an equine would blush he’d be the one to do. No, Thanatos is very modest and kind. Despite his lack of words he will never such for the praises and lavishes.
Kind - Can one even be impersonal and kind? Yes, Thanatos is. With his little words, Thanatos really has a good heart. Of course his soul is tarnished with his kills during battles, but every time he took a life he felt remorse. Now after his fighting day he still is reminded by the horrible blood shed he caused and feels the need to repent. So as life goes on he finds himself helping others, saving dames in distressed, finding lost foals, scouting for food and safe territories, and aiding the ill. Yes despite his tough exterior this boy loves helping others and being kind. If you get into conversation with his you’ll find he has very good manners. He is slightly awkward and unsure what to say but he is really just a sweet big oaf, but only if you look past that tough guy exterior.
History:
As a colt he was always a very neutral sort, born from two nomadic parents of the terra blood that constantly traveled from place to place. He never made any long lasting friends, never formed bonds of budding romances or experienced stability… but that didn’t break him in any way. It merely contributed to his slightly introverted and brooding nature. It wasn’t until he was about a year and a half when his father joined the Azoic army.
All in all, life was good for Thanatos, until the wars spread like wild fire over his homeland. Petty territorial disputes were what they were but they afflicted him deeply. His mother was destroyed in the crossfire. Thanatos ’ father was outraged and besides himself. That’s when Thanatos childhood ended and his adulthood began. His father took Thanatos under his command and trained him night and day to be a warrior. His father was growing older and knew he didn’t near the strength of his already massive son. Three years of constant training, Thanatos began to loose sight of who he was. Everything was washed clean and replaced with a warrior mentality. His father lead his son into battle where Thanatos took it upon himself to prevail for the vengeance of his mother. He was seething and brutal, unyielding and sometimes even borderline cruel. War had changed him.
Years flew by has his father kept pushing him harder. Finally, the last shard left of the true Thanatos was sliced away by his fathers constant ridicule and abusive beatings. Thanatos was twice the size of his father but he was beaten into submission. Taught to be a soldier with now mind of his own, just a drone to rule out his fathers thirst for bloody vengeance. The years went by and the war and turmoil began to diminish. His father was a respected lead stag but was growing old a frail. Thanatos stayed by his father’s side no matter how horrible he was treated or spoken to. His father loved Thanatos but never told him. Thanatos turned into a stone rock. Just a guard always ready always awaiting battle. His mind grew numb and he just spent his days standing guard watching over their harem.
At the age of eight his father finally took his last final breath. There Thanatos stood by his side as he spoke his final words to his son “You’ve done so well son. I want you to leave this place. See the world that I have kept from you. I want you to live the life I stole from you.” Thanatos was so confused. This is all he knew, what could he mean?
Thanatos knew no difference, didn’t understand what was wrong with his life. Respecting his father’s wishes he stepped down from the herds command and moved towards nothing he understood. His father wanted him to stop being a warrior? What was he missing out on? He loved his life he didn’t understand at all….
With a heavy heart he left his home and his only life he ever knew. He had always provided strength and protection for his harem and now he was sworn to go live life for once and understand what it meant to live. Wasn’t he already living?
