There’s a long list of things that make this guy crazy. To sum it up he is a lost soul in this world and he isn’t searching to find himself. Xavier has had one hell of a history and it has left a deep scar, both figuratively and literally. The poor guy is a bit damaged in the head and it seems no matter what the future holds, he will still be holding onto the past letting it eat himself alive. His memories are constantly haunting him, itching at the walls of his brains and try as he will, he is not sane. Fortunately he is able to mask the insanity for the most part but sometimes you can hear him late at night screaming her name. Xavier isn’t some evil monster who spits fire on any passerbye, no he usually fines himself avoiding all contact with other equine and living a life of regret. He’s tired… so very tired.
Bitter– What comes with a past of pain, regret, and horror—bitterness why of course. Unfortunately Mister Xavier is extremely bitter. Everything makes him think of his first love and the fact that she is gone forever and he couldn’t save her has left him bitter. His antagonism can be overwhelming sometimes. He doesn’t mean to be an asshole but sometimes he just can’t help it. He will most likely be short with you, and act as if you are a constant annoyance. He looks at this world as a whole inconvenience and hates just about everything that dwells in it, especial himself.
Angry– Of course you can’t have bitter without a side of angry. This goes hand in hand together but Xavier is a very angry person. No matter the situation he encounter, it pisses him off. If the birds are chirping no a beautiful Sunday morning, it’s a damn annoying song. If the moon is shining on a crisp fall night, its too fucking clear. Yeah, pretty much he is walking around with a cloud of dense anger tugging at his emotions so steer clear. He constantly compares everything to Amber, and of course nothing can compare thus having a trickle effect causing him to return to the memories—thus leaving him angry and pissed off at the world.
Regretful– Due to the horrific past, he has an intense amount of regret. With each waking minute of every day he regret everything he ever did. He replays the past trying to think of different ways he could have done things, so maybe that things would have panned out better. You can’t imagine what a terrible way to live when you live in a world of regret. Xavier goes through his life constantly disgusted with the decisions he’s mad and he tried to make up for it by constantly wishing how it could have been, how it should have been.
Self-Hatred– What’s worse than hating yourself. You’re stuck with yourself, and if you hate yourself, well than you are going to live a miserable life. Unfortunately for Xavier, he hates himself more than anything else in this damn world. You can never expect to live a happy life with self-hatred. Xavier hates everything about himself, how he didn’t save Amber, his ugly scars, his personality, way of life, absolutely everything. He can’t even stand his own reflection. This poor bloke just can’t stand living yet he still does. He promised her he would never take his own life. He also promised he would move on if anything happened to her but he hasn’t seemed to make it there.
Distant– When it comes down to it, he is very distant. If he is too tired of being angry and bitter he just remains distant. If you’re luck enough to get a word out of him during a conversation, he just doesn’t seem like he’s there with you. Its like he’s off somewhere else. Especially if you look into his eyes, well erm eye, you can tell he just isn’t here, not even on earth. No, Xavier is off in his fantasy world living a perfect life with Amber, growing old together, with lots of babies. A world where he is happy.
Insane– unfortunately due to the dramatic experience of Amber’s death it damaged his brain. Mentally he isn’t all there. Now he isn’t some wild loony, but he definitely isn’t sane. Most the time he is fine but if something triggers his memory just right he goes into a flashback of very vivid images of Amber and their perfect life and sometimes, or most the time it’s the attack. The flashbacks are extremely painful and gives him insanely painful headaches. Every night his has extreme nightmares that are heavily gory and he usually wakes up sweating crying her name… so he tends to not sleep. Of course this leads to a chain reaction—if he doesn’t get enough sleep he receives more flashbacks that are more intense. His flashbacks can be so intense he has passed out before and had convulsions….
History:
It started out great for Xavier. His parents met when they were young and fell madly in love. Of course a few months later Delphine, was pregnant with their first child, and Blythe couldn’t be any happier. They lived in a small close nit harem where everybody watched out and cared for each other. It was the ideal place for a foal to be born. There were about five other mares and three stallions, and four out of the five mares were pregnant as well, all with due within weeks of each other. Nearing the eleven months the entire harem was joyous and very excited for their newcomers to join.
On schedule Xavier was born, and his parents couldn’t have been happier. A bouncing baby boy, and looked just like his mother, built like his father. He was the most handsome foal the harem could imagine! Xavier’s life was perfect. His family loved him greatly and they were so kind to him. He definitely had the greatest upbringing. Not only was he raised with kindness and patience but the other foals were born, and they were all about the same age so he had two others to grow up with!
Of course it worked perfectly for him , for the two other foals were two adorable little fillies, a little chestnut named Ruby and then a gorgeous palomino, Amber. At the very beginning Xavier felt compelled to Amber. For their first year they all grew up, very close—like the three musketeers! They grew up and did everything together. Nothing could tear them apart, well not nothing….
It started happening when they all turned about two. They were maturing and Xavier was growing into a strapping lad. He was now almost a hand and a half taller than the girls. Out of the two girls, Amber matured much quicker and more beautifully. She was absolutely stunning, and Xavier was beginning to fall for her. Of course Amber couldn’t resist Xavier’s handsome looks and charm—so in no time they fell for each other. Ruby began to see this happen and grew extremely jealous. It just happened that Ruby was the lead stallions daughter so she went to him crying one night and told him she wanted Xavier, and so being the good father he went to Delphine and Blythe and proposed they pair their children together, and he would handover the harem over to Xavier when he turned of age.
Xavier’s parents couldn’t have been happier to learn their son was going to be the lead stallion, so they went to him. He couldn’t believe it. He had to be with Ruby? Never. He loved Amber and she loved him. Xavier told them this, and they did not approve. They only want the best for their son so they insisted that he had to be mates with Ruby whether he liked it or not. They weren’t trying to be mean, but they knew what was best for him. Stricken with angry, he protested but then an idea came to mind, so he complied with his parents willingly.
That night once the harem was bedded for the night, he went to Amber and woke her up. He told her everything. She cried, professing her love for him! He told her he loved her more than anything and proposed they run away, run away forever because all they needed was each other! So they did. That night they ran away, as fast as they could in any direction. Out of breath they stopped for a break and one thing led to another and they slept together for the first time…
So it was, they started their new life in a step draw of a canyon, inhabitant by no one other than themselves and hundreds of miles away from their parents. They lived a wonderful year like newlyweds, constantly consummating their relationship. Of course just like his parents she became pregnant. He couldn’t be happier to know he was going to be a father with Amber. She was so beautiful in every way he knew he was going to live a long life of happiness, how wrong was he.
It happened about a year and half after they ran away and she was about nine months pregnant. Xavier left to get her apples from a single apple tree nestled about two miles away. On his way back he heard the distant cry of Amber echo in the canyon floor. Dropping the apples he ran, as fast as his strong legs could carry him, only to see the largest cougar, ontop of Amber. Screaming he ran to it, wrapping his enamels around its necks and throwing it off Amber. There was blood everywhere. Staining her gorgeous palomino coat, and deep scratches littering it. Her barrel heaved with shock as her cerulean orbs looks to him with fear. Blood surged from her lips. Falling to his knees next to her trying to comfort her, the cougar lunged onto his back, digging its talons deep into his flesh… The fight started.
It was a fierce wild fight between Xavier and the cat. He reared, flipping over backwards, letting all his weight pin down the cat. Through it all it was bloody mess of slashing claws and enamels ripping at its pelt. Xavier can still remember the excruciating as its talons pierced into his face, then slashing through his eye, instantly blinding him. Through it all though Xavier, delivered the last blow, letting his dagger crush its skull in, finally immobilizing. Covered in blood, chunks missing from his pelt, skin barely holding on in place, and his eye profusely bleeding he limped to Amber’s side as she lied their now breathing very slowly and her orbs looking calm. Lying next to her quickly he cradled her cranium with his own as he wept, “Shhh… Everything is going to be ok darling.” A tear slid down her face as she softly whispered, “Xavier…” her words were weak, “I love you so much. I’m so sorry.” Xavier shook his head in disbelief, “Shhhh, Amber. Everything is going to be ok!” Slowly she shook her head and replied softly, “Darling, promise me. You must keep living your life. Don’t ever stop living your life. I love you….” and with that her cerulean orbs closed and she forever drifted away out of his arms. Xavier started shaking his cranium more strongly holding her closer as her cried,“Amber! No, Amber! Amber, please don’t! Oh God I love you so much! Please, God no!” She was gone…
Five years later… and the memories are still as fresh in his mind the day it happened. Memories of their life before the tragedy, and plenty memories of the attack. Despite how miserable his life is, he has kept her promise. Aimlessly walking around the world praying something or someone will strike him down so he can live an eternity with her… Unfortunately the worse came and it seemed he would never see her again… because his destiny was made. One day he was lying on an empty field and he heard the soft padding of hooves. Waking up quickly he stood to find another stallion only a few yards away. Instantly Xavier felt the energy and narrowed his orbs and flattened his pricks. The stallion came prancing towards him snorting and tossing its large cranium. Stopping a few feet the stallion laughed. “What the hell happened to you buddy?” Xavier instantly felt the anger boil under his skin. Angrily he snorted and went to turn away from this idiot, but the stallion pursued on farther. “Hey Buddy, I’m talking to you.” Instantly the stallion was growing rather angry himself, stepping in front of Xavier blocking him. Quickly Xavier spat, “Move.” He didn’t… Almost instantaneously the stallion lashed out at him and something inside Xavier snapped.
All the hurt, the anger and hidden feeling broke loose and Xavier turned into a monster. He lunged back letting his teeth sink into the base of his nape. The stallion crumbled to the ground in submission, as Xavier tore away at him, his daggers slicing into his skin as his teeth literally skinned him. The stallion pleaded for him to stop, and screamed his apologies but Xavier didn’t stop. Finally the stallion stopped screaming , stopped moving. Realizing that, Xavier stopped, blood dripping off his frame. Instantly he realized what a terrible act he had done… He backed away in horror as he looked over the massacre. He couldn’t believe it. In fear he ran, ran as fast as he could, his heart beating wildly, the blood still littering his frame. He just ran, and kept running his mind completely frantic. Finally he saw the edge of a cliff, he came to a sliding halt, just barely stopping before the edge. Rocks crumbled off the edge as he looked down. It was a good thousand feet drop. Quickly he looked up to heavens and screamed, “Why?! Why do I have to do this alone?” With that he looked down one more time and just let go of everything and stepped off the edge. The last thing he remembered was feeling light as a feather as he dropped to his death.
