BATTLE RULES
- All judged fights are to be played out on this board.
- Each MEMBER is only allowed two challenges for a herd land per MUSTANG game year. Whether you use these for the same character, or two different ones, is up to you.
- Each time a land is won in a battle, there will be a one season wait period before such land can challenged for again.
- Each fighter is allowed to have 2 hits and 0 dodges. Both of the attacks may be included in one post or separate posts.
- No powerplaying! This will be an automatic loss!
- No horse can die unless previously discussed and agreed on.
- Lead mares may fight other lead mares.
- Lead mares and stallions can fight together in a duel battle if agreed upon by all participants.
- Once the fight begins, if a member doesn't post a completed reply within 72 hours they lose on default. Injuries will still be dealt if any attacks have been written.
- Once you have completed your battle post you must add a note at the bottom of your post with the exact time you finished the post (including the time zone). After this no more edits will be allowed to a post.
- When challenging for a mare or stallion, you must PM the member whose herd they are in, as well as post here in Battle Gorge. The member who is being challenged must reply within one week or they lose the mare/stallion. (Unless they are away.)
- When challenging for a herd land, you must post a thread in the stallion's land (not via PM!). If they do not reply to your post in one week you will win by default. (Unless the member is away.) If the challenged stallion does reply accepting the challenge then you must begin a thread on this board (within 72 hours or your challenge will be void).
- Once the fight thread is posted on this board, if either opponent doesn't respond within 72 hours the other opponent wins by default.
- Posting as away will not count towards battles unless you post as away before the battle starts.
- Judges will decide who wins and their judgment will be based on points awarded for certain criteria. See "Judgment System" section below.
- Only one staff member needs to judge fights, however, you may request to have two staff members judge a fight ONLY if it is over land. A tie will result in a third judge.
- You must have at least 100 posts to challenge for a land.
- You must have at least 50 posts to challenge for a mare/stallion.
- After a stallion or mare is challenged for their land or receives/claims a new land, they may not be challenged again for three real life weeks (one season).
- If an inactive lead loses their land they may not challenge again until one real life month has passed (eg. if they lost the land on 20th December they cannot challenge again until 20th January).
- Leads may set terms for the horses that challenge them. Such as who posts first, two attacks in one post or separate posts, what happens to the loser, etc.
- The character being fought for has no say in who wins/who they go with.
- Each fighter must post two attacks and two responses to their opponents attack, equaling a minimum of three posts.
Example:
First Post: Attack
Second Post: Defense and Second Attack
Third Post: Second Defense
NEW BATTLE SYSTEM + JUDGEMENT SYSTEM:
- Our new battle system implements a horse’s strength and defense.
- These points will be used to help judge battles
-However, if both parties consent, battles can be judged without use of the point system
- Battles will not be judged strictly on the point system: grammar, quality of writing, and character development are all still very important
- All horses start with 1 Defense point, and 1 Strength point. However:
- Horses 16 hh and over start with an extra Strength point
- Horses under 16 hh start with an extra Defense point (rule subset)
-With each battle, horses get extra points to use in whichever category they see fit.
- Winner gains 2 points
- Loser gains 1 point
Example of point usage:
Castro: 2 Strength
3 Defense
Hallow: 2 Strength
5 Defense
Castro posts first:
Attack of 2 leaves Hallow with a defense of 3.
Hallow’s attack of 2 leaves Castro with a defense of 1.
REPEAT.
Castro has -1
Hallow has 1.
So Hallow would have the physical upperhand in this fight.
-However, if Castro outperforms Hallow in other areas, he still has the chance to win.
-After points from Grammar, Character Development, Quality, Attacks and Defenses are all added up, Strength and Defense points will be added or subtracted. In this case, Castro’s final score would be his judgement score -1, and Hallow’s would be his judgement score +1.
-As of September 20th, 2014, first posts in a battle, for both challenger and defendant, MUST include up to date Strength and Defense stats.
JUDGEMENT SYSTEM:
Points will be awarded for the following:
Grammar: x/10 + reasons
Character Development: x/10 + reasons
Attacks: x/10 + reasons
Defenses: x/10 + reasons
Quality: x/10 +reasons
Defense: 1/whatever
Strength: 1/whatever
Point Totals:
Winner:
Winner is awarded: 2 points
Loser is awarded: 1 point
